I was listening to another author and her bonds just didn’t hold my attention. Christina Lauren’s characters keep me waiting to know what’s next.

This story isn’t for the squeamish but, if you can stomach the premise, it gives one a lot to contemplate.

I've lived in Utah and Idaho for 30 years. Unfortunately Tara's story isn't unique. Many members of the LDS faith seem to take it on this kind of extreme tangent. Sadly, most cannot blame it on a mental health issue but rather man's (as a species) tendency to take a perceived power (priesthood) and twist it to their own ends. Being a survivor of sexual abuse I've heard this kind of story in support groups over and over. I've met many people who've had to make a choice between personal survival or family connection and most of their families are divided just as Tara's is. Heartbreaking!

I believe whole heartedly in Cesar's way of being a strong, calm, assertive pack leader. My dog and I are SO much happier!

A tiny bit predictable but still written well & preformed excellently. Very enjoyable listen. I would definitely recommend this author & narrator.

I think in analogies so Stan Tatkin's writing style works well for me. However I feel it might be too advanced for someone new to self-help/therapy. I learned some new ways of thinking about & approaching relationships. I especially find the early attachment information intriguing.

... and then share it with every other woman in her life. Emily takes science & makes it make sense in an articulate, compassionate, humorous way. I plan to get a hard copy & do lots & lots of highlights & notes. As a survivor of childhood incestuous sexual abuse I can recommend this book as a great way to start dispelling the myths & erroneous self-talk inherent to that history. I wish I'd had this book 30 years ago!!!
