Another great book by Dr Sowell
Reviewed: 09-06-23
This was yet another great book by one of the smartest people and best researchers in the world today. This book is unbiased and loaded with historical facts. In that way, it's similar to Black Nednecks and White Liberals. I've been through almost every Sowell book and have yet to be disappointed. In terms of other works by Sowell, I would put this book in the upper 30% for its ease to follow and content.

Story
The Vision of the Anointed is a devastating critique of the mindset behind the failed social policies of the past thirty years. Thomas Sowell sees what has happened not as a series of isolated mistakes, but as a logical consequence of a vision whose defects have led to disasters in education, crime, family disintegration, and other social pathology. In this book, "politically correct" theory is repeatedly confronted with facts-and sharp contradictions between the two are explained in terms of a whole set of self-congratulatory assumptions held by political and intellectual elites.

This book clearly explains why the woke agenda and extreme liberalism has taken much of the world governments. This is a deep look at the causation and impacts for things like judicial activism and the corruption of governments and media.
I highly recommend any Thomas Sowell book. It is one of life's great tragedies that every young person doesn't yet know Thomas Sowell. Share his wisdom every chance you get. Thomas Sowell has spent his life bringing wisdom and intelligent thought to mankind. He is truly one of the smartest people on the planet.

Story
This book is about the great moral issues underlying many of the headline-making political controversies of our times. It is not a comforting book but a book about disturbing and dangerous trends. The Quest for Cosmic Justice shows how confused conceptions of justice end up promoting injustice, how confused conceptions of equality end up promoting inequality, and how the tyranny of social visions prevents many people from confronting the actual consequences of their own beliefs and policies.

Sowell is literally the smartest person on the planet. His logic and straightforward analysis of most social dynamics facing the world are eye opening for many and solidarity for others.
This is the seventh book by Sowell I've listened to or read. Of all his books, this one requires active consciousness and listening.

Thomas Sowel proves once again why he is the smartest person on the planet. Sowell's ability to break down concepts, apply facts across the greater global spectrum and impart his humble wisdom is why every young person should be exposed to his work. The fact that every person on the planet does not know him is why our education system is a complete failure. Do yourself a favor and get every book Sowel ever wrote and do your best to understand his concepts. You and the world will be better for it.

Story
Intellectuals and Race is a radical book in the original sense - one that goes to the root of the problem. The role of intellectuals in racial strife is explored in an international context that puts the American experience in a wholly new light. The book explores the incentives, the visions, and the rationales that drive intellectuals at the highest levels to conclusions that have often turned out to be counterproductive and even disastrous, not only for particular racial or ethnic groups but for societies as a whole.

Story
These wide-ranging essays - on many individual political, economic, cultural, and legal issues - have as a recurring, underlying theme the decline of the values and institutions that have sustained and advanced American society for more than two centuries. This decline has been more than erosion. It has, in many cases, been a deliberate dismantling of American values and institutions by people convinced that their superior wisdom and virtue must override both the traditions of the country and the will of the people.

Story
Our brains do their best to help us out, but every so often they can be real assholes - having meltdowns, getting addicted to things, or shutting down completely at the worst possible moments. Your brain knows it's not good to do these things, but it can't help it sometimes - especially if it's obsessing about trauma it can't overcome. That's where this life-changing book comes in. With humor, patience, science, and lots of good-ole swearing, Dr. Faith explains what's going on in your skull, and talks you through the process of retraining your brain to respond appropriately....
