Story
Twenty-four-year-old Saeris Fane is good at keeping secrets. No one knows about the strange powers she possesses or the fact that she has been picking pockets and stealing from the Undying Queen's reservoirs for as long as she can remember. But a secret is like a knot. Sooner or later, it is bound to come undone. When Saeris comes face-to-face with Death himself, she inadvertently reopens a gateway between realms and is transported to a land of ice and snow. The Fae have always been the stuff of myth, of legend, of nightmares… but it turns out they're real.

I have to say this book surprised me! It started slow, but once things picked up they didn’t stop! It laughed, cried, got angry, frustrated, all the feelings! Some of the dialogue was a bit childish, but the story was so good I was able to overlook that part, I can’t wait for what comes next. The narrators were pretty awesome! ðŸ‘?

Story
When I was a little girl, I dreamed a handsome knight would come and rescue me from my wretched mother. He'd ride up on his white steed and break the curse I've been fated to carry since the day I was born. Funny how things changed over time, how the fairytale twisted into something far more crooked—and darker—than I ever imagined. In reality, my knight is scarred and broken, living alone in a castle of bones that overlooks the sea. He isn’t searching for me. He never was.

Very very dark..
Reviewed: 01-05-25
This book is definitely gothic and dark. Not many moments of happiness. I think calling it a romance is a big leap. The characters do fall in love and there’s plenty of sex, but I wouldn’t label it a romance. I can understand why some reviews felt they were empty towards the end and not satisfied. The book is all dark and tragic, the author could have given a second epilogue to satisfy readers looking for romance and perhaps provide some continuous happiness for Lucian. A bit of balance for such darkness.
Don’t get me wrong, the story was good, though it drags out a bit. This author has an excellent creative dark imagination. The performance superbly done, specially Lucian’s with the male voice. However, if you are looking for a love story with warm and sweet moments, this is not it. It’s a sort of love that develops between two people who did not have much happiness. Lucian’s life is all suffering. He’s cold and detached and so is his love. That’s the best description I can provide.
Please do not read this book without reading the TW. I can’t say it enough - the book has darkness, suffering, tragedy, torture, rape, lies, betrayal, etc.
Truly, the only lightness I felt from the book was during the epilogue, but I wouldn’t call it a satisfying happy ending for those of us looking for a bit of romance in darkness. I liked Nightshade and Infernium better.

Story
Nearly killed while trying to win back his ancestral home, Black Richard MacCullough is left scarred and mangled; but some scars run far deeper than mere skin. No longer the handsome devil or kind man of his youth, now he focuses solely on rebuilding everything that was lost to the brutal Chisolms and traitorous MacRays. Revenge - while not nearly as important as keeping his clan from starving - is the only thing that keeps his bruised heart beating.

Desperate, she seeks out the Duke of Westhaven, a widower who gossip says needs a wealthy wife immediately to save his family from ruin. It’s a cute and lovely short story. I’m afraid I am a bit biased though, because JJ is one of my favorite authors and Tim Campbell is my favorite narrator. I would recommend this story for anyone who wants a romance without backstabbing, plots and conniving women.

It was like watching an HBO series. I almost stopped listening when Christopher lost my respect early on in the book and Dustin shouldn’t be so forgiving. Not something I expect in romance novels. However, it’s part of the growth for both characters. Christopher is too full of himself and had too much baggage. Marcus is faithful and more loyal. He’s accent is adorable! I also love the narrator’s voice and the accents he created for all characters. Specially, the way Christopher says “sweetheart”.
I will listen to the story again in a couple of months. It kept me enthralled!

Story
Lady Frederica Darlington isn’t prim, obedient, or appropriately dispassionate as a proper lady of the aristocracy should be. Nor is she interested in securing a husband, whether rake, rogue, duke, or lord. Freddy wants to live as she pleases in a place she feels she belongs, and for a unconventional lady, the bohemian world of Covent Garden seems the perfect spot. She has a plan to achieve her goal, but when one of her secret missions goes awry and the King of the Underworld rescues her, danger never looked so enticing.
