I need the next book so bad! I LOVE these characters, I just want to live in a world where they are real. I guess I’ll have to take a break till the (hopefully) next book comes out… meanwhile, this one sure has given me lots to think about. This story was so sweet, so honorable. Each book in this series has had honorable men, but this one.. such a different spin! Loved it ❤️

I am so in love with these characters! The entire extended collection including God and Day. Their cameo was awesome! I just can’t say enough about this series, listen and enjoy!

I don’t listen to computer generated narration. It ruins most stories.. most. I don’t even know why I chose to listen to this one, totally not my norm. Thank God I did! I can only imagine this book with real life narrative! Now I’m dying for it.
This story is so wild, so deep and so depraved yet so human. This is the 50 shades we wanted, and didn’t get. This is true human struggle with morality and need. I can’t even put words to how this book made me feel.. disgust? Anger? Empathy? Yes all of those, but also understanding and acceptance. It’s sexy and unexpected, all I want for Christmas is this book narrated by Aiden Snow ❤️

I am reviewing this book early, at chapter 19… I knew by chapter 16 this was gonna be my favorite book, and I’ve listened to over 400 in the last two years! I have laughed out loud, she tears and paused with a pit in my stomach of both Hope and dread. I’ve never loved characters more in my life! Grab a tissue and dig in, you’re going for a ride

I didn’t know what to expect.. true love story from the war? Not my usual gig. I listened anyway.. I feel like I know them, Bob and Jean. I can imagine their home and family, vacations and memories. Thank you for sharing your parents story ❤️

That’s what I had to keep telling myself. I have listened to hundred of stories… hundreds. I have NEVER cried, never gripped my pillow white knuckled.. never felt so strongly for characters in my life! This story absolutely gripped my heart and soul. I am so impressed with this author and I can’t wait to read the rest of the books!

I made it to chapter 9 before I couldn’t take it anymore. Sad, because I love the other stories by this writer.
The inflection and tone is so off and so distracting, I just couldn’t listen anymore.

I don’t usually listen to this particular kind of story. I happened onto it, between a different series. I was shocked to find that the main character, wasn’t the “biggest/baddest” guy in the story… that’s RARE. They allowed him to be real, to need help, to be tough but vulnerable. The ending was awesome. Without spoilers, the “solution” to their issue is one bad ass dude. I hope there’s another story just about Him.

This story is SO important. The young woman matters, she mattered, and will continue to be a beacon for missing black women. The musical interludes, the poetic comments, were unnecessary and distracting. Her story is enough… the “fanfare” was a ridiculous narrative that distracts from the REAL story. Everyone should hear this story, hopefully they push thru the distractions.
