Story
My days used to be filled with working my minimum wage job at a local shipping store, but one night, I was in the wrong place at the right time and came into possession of a weird metal bracelet. The good news: Now I suddenly have a superpower. The bad news: A vicious family of mobsters, clandestine government agencies, and uber wealthy treasure hunters all want to tear the bracelet from my dead arm.

a bit slow
Reviewed: 06-23-24
overall good but overly descriptive, as if the intended reader had no world experience. made it seem slow. i think sex scenes were the only thing that bumped it out of the 12 year old market classification. great narration, with very good character seperation.

great adventure but....

Awesome second book. The narration was emotive with some character seperation, a few mispronounciations. I did NOT like a cliffhanger. Are the publishers so insecure of future sales to pull this crap? A 13 hour ride should have offered a stopping point. I would almost expect it frome a series of 4 hour books. Ok, rant is over. Great story, very good narration.

Story
Things are going great for Sutton Kay, or at least they were. Her yoga studio is doing well, she's living with her best friend, and she just got two kittens named Mocha and Cappuccino. Sure, she doesn't have a girlfriend, but her life is full and busy. Then her building is sold, and the new landlord turns out to be the woman putting in a gym downstairs who doesn't seem to understand the concepts "courtesy" and "don't be rude to your tenants".

Ajax is one of Earth’s most elite, a Paladin pilot, and trusted to fly the most advanced starfighters humanity ever produced. His carrier and the rest of the fleet have fallen back, the recent damage from the elven betrayal making it impossible to stay in the fight. He knows they’ll return, and they’ll treat this world to the same kind of plasma bombardment that the elves had inflicted on Mother Earth. The real problem for Ajax, though, is that he’s parachuting down onto it now, his arm broken.

main story arc made me buy this 3rd book. after reading the 1st two books, you only need the last chapter & epilog of this one. also, jasmin character presents as a poorly translated anime 6yr old. just can't listen to this nice narrator be forced to do the jasmine laugh again.
next, three books in and the 16-17yr old girlfriend sleeps naked next to mc each night and still has no idea what an errection is? this may be futuristic but idiot savant would still not cover her lack of discovering her own genialia.
last, mc can't even think, let alone SAY the word sex. 16yr old male? obviously, this future mars society is beyond my ability to grasp. i now wish i had all 3 of my credits back.

Gina Mitchells has a problem. The assistant professor is in charge of her college’s pride festival committee, and the celebrity grand marshal they’d painstakingly recruited has just blown up the internet with a major scandal. Messing up the festival could ruin her chance to be approved for tenure. There’s exactly one famous person Gina knows who could save the day as a last-minute replacement. The problem? The woman is Gina’s ex-girlfriend, and to say the relationship did not end well is an understatement.
