The choice to use a female narrator was unique and spot on; excellent delivery of the message. The book itself was unique because of the empathy it displayed for teens and the difference in their journey compared to their parents. It was sound advice that honored our teens’ innate strengths and protected their long term well being. It has encouragement and good reminders for parents that feel overwhelmed by parenting teens in this new era of anxiety.

Amazing story! Wonderful storytelling by the author and a great narrator too! For all the harrowing ordeals the characters endured, I came away from the book uplifted. It renews a belief in the strength and goodness of ordinary people.

I was very pleasantly surprised at how well I followed the audio version of the book, given the non- chronological story line. Doerr's imagery, and metaphors for complex human emotions are so apt. He had amazing knowledge of so many places, and complex subject matter as well.
