Story
Six months ago, Lucas Davenport tackled his first case as a statewide troubleshooter, and he thought that one was plenty strange enough. But that was before the Russian got killed. On the shore of Lake Superior, a man named Vladimir Oleshev is found shot dead, three holes in his head and heart, and though nobody knows why he was killed, everybody - the local cops, the FBI, and the Russians themselves - has a theory. And when it turns out he had very high government connections, that's when it hits the fan.

The audio on part 2 is defective
Reviewed: 01-27-16
Would you consider the audio edition of Hidden Prey to be better than the print version?
The audio in part 2 has an under recording of some other voices or information. This is very distracting and not part of the story or other aspects of the audio.
How could the performance have been better?
See note above about the technical recording of part 2.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No, part 2 was VERY hard to hear.
Any additional comments?
I love the prey books but felt that this one was extremely substandard in the audio compilation.

Story
It is not just the living ships of the monstrous Gorgons or the motion-blurred shock troops of the armored Cyphers that endanger the holdouts in the human bastion of Panther Ridge. The world itself has turned against the handful of survivors, as one by one they succumb to despair and suicide or, even worse, are transformed by otherworldly pollution into hideous Gray Men, cannibalistic mutants driven by insatiable hunger.

Complete book is FAR better than the defective one

If you could sum up The Border in three words, what would they be?
Good that Audible fixed the problem with the original download. The book itself was very good.

subtle phrasing, broad humor and clear intelligence underscore a very palatable review of the American history, government and philosophy. Most enjoyable to hear and easy to absorb.

Story
In what is considered one of Heinlein's most hair-raising, thought-provoking, and outrageous adventures, the master of modern science fiction tells the strange story of an even stranger world. It is 21st-century Luna, a harsh penal colony where a revolt is plotted between a bashful computer and a ragtag collection of maverick humans, a revolt that goes beautifully until the inevitable happens. But that's the problem with the inevitable: it always happens.

I read the book many, many years ago and was very favorably impressed with the narration and tone. The audio was excellent.
