Story
It was a name that caused the most hardened gunmen to break out in a cold sweat: Texas Ranger Chick Bowdrie. Pursuing the most wanted men in the Southwest, he knew all too well the dusty trails, the bitter cattle feuds, the desperate killers, and the quiet, weather-beaten towns that could explode into mayhem with the wrong word. He had sworn to carry out the law, but there were times when he had to apply justice with his fists and his guns.

Just as good as I remembered as a boy
Reviewed: 05-12-23
I used to listen to these old stories in audio cassette as a young boy in the 90’s growing up. It was a constant companion while traveling on road trips or sitting at home bored.
I decided to buy these to see if it was all just nostalgia in my mind; nope, the writing is great, the voice acting and sound effects are top notch. If you love this period and/or have enjoyed L’Amour’s books, thus is a great buy. I’ve read many of his books, ironically very few books about Chick Bowdrie. But every audio book I ever listened to: Bowdrie, Sacketts, McQueen, etc were always great and I’m preparing to buy more.

Story
In her late 30's, Rosaria encountered something that turned her world upside down - the idea that Christianity, a religion she had regarded as problematic, might be right about who God was. That idea seemed to fly in the face of the people and causes that she most loved. What follows is a story of what she describes as a train wreck at the hand of the supernatural. These are her secret thoughts about those events, written as only a reflective English professor could.

A wonderful and relatable story

An absolutely wonderful and relatable story despite coming from a background so much different than mine and yet her experiences and unfolding understanding of the riches of grace and mercy of our Lord had me nodding in agreement so many times.

Story
Few images in history have managed to capture and hold the popular imagination quite like that of Hannibal, the fearless North African, perched on a monstrous elephant, leading his mercenaries over the Alps and then, against all odds, descending the ice-covered peaks to challenge Rome in her own backyard for mastery of the ancient world. It was a bold move, and it established Hannibal as one of history's greatest commanders. But this same brilliant tactician is also one of history's most tragic figures; fate condemned him to win his battles but not his war.

A fresh look at arguably the greatest general of all time

I have been obsessed with Hannibal Parker since I read Adrian Goldsworthy “Punic wars”. There was a lot of great info in here that I had never known before and lots of material on his peace time career of which most biographies have glossed over.
If you are a fan of that era or the man, it’s a must read .

Story
The media tells us that "deregulation" and "unfettered free markets" have wrecked our economy and will continue to make things worse without a heavy dose of federal regulation. But the real blame lies elsewhere. In Meltdown, best-selling author Thomas E. Woods, Jr., unearths the real causes behind the collapse of housing values and the stock market---and it turns out the culprits reside more in Washington than on Wall Street.

Thus isn’t exhaustive treatise but is the perfect jumping off point to get you started on learning about the onlu school of economic thought who can fully explain the business cycle phenomenon that continues to rear its ugly head in all major industrialized societies who have central banks and fiat money (all of the former have the latter).
