Story
The Queensville Heritage Society is restoring the once-grand Dumpe Manor. While Dumpe relatives and society members use the occasion to dust off old grudges, Jaymie Leighton prefers to adorn the kitchen with authentic Depression-era furnishings. A collection of vintage wooden mallets found in the house is a perfect addition to her display, but one also offers a late-night intruder the perfect weapon to knock Jaymie unconscious before escaping.

The characters were very well fleshed out but not so much at one time so as to give away too much and spoil the mystery.

First, I found the blast of audio from the narrators to be off-putting. Harsh! The story was okay but not very plausible at certain points. I really had to force myself to finish.

But with no proof and a good lawyer, he’s never charged, though that doesn’t matter to the podcasters and internet trolls. Now, Ryan has changed his last name, and entered law school. He's put his past behind him. Until, on a summer trip abroad to Italy, Ryan gets a call from his father.

This book was about dogs, a lot of dogs. However, even though it was a personal story of family dogs, it seemed more like a "how to care for dogs" and "why one should or should not" have them.
