The story was typical zombie apocalypse but I do enjoy those. The narrator has a grating voice. She made it hard to listen. Hopefully this author will use someone else on the next one.

Story
Five days in the grinder. Five days of endless pain and no sleep. Five days of the hardest work imaginable-it’s the work of surviving and not one second of it has been easy. This is the story of how the world ends as we know it. It’s the story of the apocalypse. It’s the story of how we lost. Those of us who can fight against these urges are called the good guys. There’s very few of us left at the beginning of day five and by the end...well, you will have to see for yourself if there are any good guys left when the clock strikes midnight on humanity.

Very original and action packed!
Reviewed: 03-15-23
I listened to the 40 episodes twice. Very entertaining. It wasn’t a typical apocalyptic read. If you like to listen at bed time to help you sleep as I often do, this is not the book for you. It keeps you interested in what happens next. The characters are well developed and the performance was great. This is, however, an adult experience.

Lots of action and great story. I feel like I know the characters. Being a dog lover, Shrek was my hero!
I read a lot. But I took a chance on getting this book in audible.
I was not disappointed. I have heard other books narrated by Bronson Pinchot and read other books by Walt Browning. What was not to love? They made this book come alive.

I love this series! The characters are real. Shrek, the dog, is amazing. The variants are scary and not your everyday zombie. The military aspects are right on. The performance of Bronson Pinchot is one of the best I’ve heard. Can’t wait for more!
