A little on the sexist side

This book is just not for me. While I agree that being involved parents makes for happier and more fulfilled children, I found the way the author contrasts boys and girls to be narrow minded and outdated. -Ironic for a woman doctor. I tired to finish it, but I think I just need to put it down at this point.

Anna Kendrick's autobiographical collection of essays amusingly recounts memorable moments throughout her life, from her middle-class upbringing in New England to the blockbuster movies that have made her one of Hollywood's most popular actresses today. Expanding upon the witty and ironic dispatches for which she is known, Anna Kendrick's essays offer her one-of-a-kind commentary on the absurdities she's experienced on her way to and from the heart of pop culture.

Story
When Pamela Druckerman turns 40, waiters start calling her "Madame", and she detects a disturbing new message in mens' gazes: I would sleep with her, but only if doing so required no effort whatsoever. Yet 40 isn't even technically middle-aged anymore. And after a lifetime of being clueless, Druckerman can finally grasp the subtext of conversations, maintain (somewhat) healthy relationships and spot narcissists before they ruin her life. What are the modern 40s, and what do we know once we reach them? What makes someone a "grown-up" anyway?

Best Book I’ve Read By A Comedian Yet
Reviewed: 04-07-20
I’m a huge fan of female comics. I’ve read every book written by a female SNL comedian, and then some. With amazing women like Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, and Rachel Dratch in mind, I have to say, Laura Clery’s book was my favorite. Her story was so much more honest and interesting than I ever could have thought. I literally cleared my day so I could keep listening to it. Now I see her as not just hilarious, but extremely inspiring. I highly recommend her book, Idiot, and I can’t wait for the next one.

Story
In short, frisky sections, these Parisian women give you their very original views on style, beauty, culture, attitude and men. The authors—Anne Berest, Audrey Diwan, Caroline de Maigret, and Sophie Mas—unmarried but attached, with children—have been friends for years. Talented bohemian iconoclasts with careers in the worlds of music, film, fashion and publishing, they are untypically frank and outspoken as they debunk the myths about what it means to be a French woman today.

I’ve listened to a lot of books on Audible, many by my favorite writers, actors, etc., The Minimalist Home is the one I have enjoyed the most so far. Joshua Becker is clear, passionate, and so interesting. I’ve never finished an Audible book so quickly. I just couldn’t stop listening, and now I have great motivation for the minimalist journey that awaits me when I get home this week.
