Story
Apparently, there’s no rest for the over-forty crowd. Yes, I have fabulous friends. Yes, I have a beautiful baby. Yes, the ghosts are coming back home. Yes, I’m in love with the Grim Reaper. However, that sexy Demon has got some major ’splainin’ to do … like his possible involvement in the shocking kidnapping of my worst and most deadly enemy. With a drag queen and an ice queen as my back up, we’re going to sashay away into the Darkness to find the truth and turn a wrong into a right. Although, I’m learning fast that black and white are often clouded with shades of gray.

Loved the first several books but...
Reviewed: 11-12-23
I absolutely loved the first several books, even so far as crying when her husband was suffering and then crying with laughter at so many hysterical parts. I'm a huge mystery fan so helping the ghosts move on by solving the mysteries is most interesting to me but lately it's been more about one evil entity after the next and the constant battles. This book was most disappointing from the get-go and hard to follow. I had to keep reminding to listen over to see if I missed something. The narrator is the Bomb - though - she is great!

unbelievable from the beginning in my opinion
Reviewed: 07-20-23
From the beginning the story was unbelievable. What sheriff is going to allow a defense attorney much less the suspect's wife access to so much information and then be involved in investigation. And no comment from her partners at a supposed top law firm?! The story should have been about a prosecutor's spouse instead, not that that scenario would have been believed in Prince William County VA which is Virginia's second largest county. Very disappointed since I bought the book based on the number of reviews.

Story
A fresh start. That's what Becca hoped the move from New York to Redemption, Wisconsin would be for her troubled family. A way to get her crumbling marriage back on track, and to bond with her difficult 16-year-old stepdaughter. But instead of a new beginning, Becca is thrust into a mysterious past she barely remembers. A past that includes the complications of interacting with her old teenage crush, Daniel, as well as living in her aunt's old house. A house with a violent past. A house the locals swear is haunted.

abused main character?
Reviewed: 02-20-23
I couldn't finish it after hours of listening to main character's self bashing paranoid thoughts and weakness. Regardless of when it started in her life it started to make me sick too my stomach to listen to it, overshadowed the ghost story buried somewhere in the story.

quite disappointed in the story itself . especially after listening to the first book of almost the same obsession the character takes on with these women so quickly. hard to believe he falls so hard just based on their appearance and he is supposed to be some trained agent of 'the bank'?!

Story
Imagine if you made one little mistake when you were young and were punished for it for the rest of your life. Well, that’s what happened to Lydia (yes, that Lydia, the youngest Bennet sister from Pride and Prejudice), and she’s here to set the record straight. Hold on to your teacups and get ready for sophisticated (and a little bit naughty) hot takes and witty banter that’ll make you laugh—and think. We meet Lydia just as she is denounced by her family, exiled miles from home, and married to the rogue George Wickham, who seems to love all women...except his own wife.

Story
Never in my 40 years did I think my new normal would be gluing body parts back onto ghosts and hosting a houseful of dead squatters. Thank God for superglue and a strong stomach. Never thought I’d date the Grim Reaper and that I would be the one to blow it. I mean, how idiotic does one have to be to get dumped by a dude who lives in Hell? Going about business as usual is not usual in any way. No one is who they seem to be...and to be honest, neither am I. What I’d known to be true has turned out to be myth. The angels are frightening, and the demons are hot.

I can't stop listening to this series!!
Reviewed: 06-22-22
first off - wow - the narrator is totally the. essence of this book. I can't even think of any other female narrator I've heard of in all the thousands of books I've listened in many years that could have kept up with all the hilarious characters in this series! I would give her a standing ovation if she could see me, ha!
secondly, thanks be to the wonderful author. just WOW - note to author - please please consider a tv series haha. I love the characters and rollercoaster ride you take us all on. Being able to include side busting humor throughout, some heart wrench moments and even head scratch times is amazing. Throwing in thought provoking and a mystery story tied up with a bow in each book is enough but then you end each one like a season finale cliff hanger! I haven't enjoyed listening like this in a long time. p.s. if you do get a tv series don't let anyone talk you into any unfitting character actors - please if you have watched any of the Walt Longmire series, you know what I'm talking about, 'Walt' was the ONLY actor they got right therefore wasn't even worth watching.

After losing her boyfriend, apartment, and job in the same day, Janie Morris can't help wondering what new torment fate has in store. To her utter mortification, Quinn Sullivan—a.k.a. Sir McHotpants—witnesses it all then keeps turning up like a pair of shoes you lust after but can't afford. The last thing she expects is for Quinn—the focus of her slightly, albeit harmless, stalkerish tendencies—to make her an offer she can't refuse.

Story
When Harland Cain holds a .45 automatic to his head and bears down slowly upon the trigger, he experiences a profound sense of control over his destiny for the first time in his life. He savors the moment and imagines the click of the hammer, the explosion, and the bullet spiraling through the barrel before everything turns black. It's then he hears the out-of-control screaming of tires on the pavement, followed by the sickening sound of metal crashing against concrete. He lays down the pistol and crosses his yard in that predawn darkness to find a young boy, bloody and dazed.

Story
Back in 1985, Frank Mackey was a nineteen-year-old kid with a dream of escaping his family's cramped flat on Faithful Place and running away to London with his girl, Rosie Daly. But on the night they were supposed to leave, Rosie didn't show. Frank took it for granted that she'd dumped him-probably because of his alcoholic father, nutcase mother, and generally dysfunctional family. He never went home again. Neither did Rosie. Then, twenty-two years later, Rosie's suitcase shows up.

This is not my first in this series. After hours of listening to this one though, I began to realize why the other just barely kept me entertained. This book seemed like it was written in order to meet a book report of set amount of words, with a set amount of specific curse words to be used at least a hundred times each! It's a series about undercover cop butt this whole book is about nothing but his dysfunctional family?! ugh I'm already 16hrs into the book and can't figure out why I started getting headaches days ago? duh. and it's too late to get credit back for this one, my bad though.
