Story
In the darkness of Imperium Nihilus, across half a million worlds cut off from the dim light of Holy Terra, a beacon is lit. The Red Angel returns to an unsteady galaxy and his scattered sons heed the call to slaughter. Aboard the World Eaters’ flagship, Kossolax the Foresworn, self-appointed lord regent of the XII, fights to keep the old dreams of the Legion alive, but finds the return of his hated father both an opportunity and a threat to the warriors’ fragile unity.

Not the world eaters book you think it’s going to be
Reviewed: 02-19-23
Definitely had a few storylines that felt like there would be some big payoffs but either fell flat or a little disappointing.
If you think you’re going to listen to a blood crazed angron hack and slash through battles and space marines or listen to feral World Eaters crunch through loyalist space marines you’ll be left wanting a little more.
Still some good scene and lore in the book, but average.

Story
Fell times have come to the galaxy. Cadia has fallen, destroyed by the onslaught of Chaos. A Great Rift in the warp has opened, and from its depths spew daemons and the horrors of Old Night. But all hope is not lost… A hero, long absent, has returned, and with him comes the wrath of the Ultramarines reborn. Roboute Guilliman has arisen to lead the Imperium out of darkness on a crusade the likes of which has not been seen since the fabled days of the Emperor. But never before have the forces of Ruin amassed in such numbers, and nowhere is safe from despoliation.

Love the set up and execution of the battles and story.. Especially nurgle’s entrance onto the garden planet!!
My second time listening, this was my first 40K book and I’m now re-reading this to prepare for godblight!
This trilogy really has everything you’d want as a reader, this is a must read!
