Two weeks in a tiny house in a small town with the woman who broke my heart. Or was it me who broke hers? It was complicated. And it was about to be a heck of a lot more complicated sharing one bed in the guest room with a woman who wasn’t mine anymore.

I loved, loved, loved the first 3 books in this series, but The Drummer’s Hearts, is a hard no! First, I hated the female narrator she is just so self loathing and she is self deprecating to the point of annoyance. I will avoid books she narrates in the future. The story drags on and on and repeats itself over and over. It’s like the never ending, I screwed up and maybe I’ll forgive you-and I understand why they did this to me drama. Groundhog Day over-and-over.
Did I laugh at any time during this book, and that answer is a resounding No. did I cry? No. It took me weeks to get through this book, and I drive a ton, so I decided as I am almost finished to write a review. I read these before purchasing, and felt compelled to write this.
This book might be for you, I was and is a hard no for me and I do not expect to ever relisten to it…ever.

Crew Madigan is a snowboarding legend. He’s gorgeous, rich, famous, and every woman’s dream. Well, except mine. I’ll take a nerdy guy with a clumsy streak who wouldn’t know what to do with a pair of skis to save his life. Superstar athletes? No, thanks. World champions? Hard pass. Crew? Definitely not.

I know there are so many glowing reviews on this story, and I am wondering why?
Was it suspenseful? Yes.
Was it unique? Not Really.
Was it romantic? Somewhat.
I think one unique aspect is that if I had the book, I could have read the complete manuscript by skipping chapters and that might have been fun.
Because this is the audio version we did not get the extra added epilogue, and that may have made a difference.
Honestly, I thought the characters were somewhat weak in their development and the ending seemed rushed. This is my first Colleen Hoover book and I will not judge by this book alone, because she seems to be exceptionally popular.

Story
For years, rumors of the "Marsh Girl" have haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand.

If you are on the fence about purchasing this book, take a leap and use a credit! Being from the south, I could totally relate to the dialect and the simpleness of the characters and the town, it was set in the 1960-70’s.
The books offers something for everyone and embodies all genres from suspense to love. I can see why Reece Witherspoon selected this as one of her monthly books. Enjoy!
PS. The first chapter is a bit slow, and I think is how the narrator sets the pace of the book. Stick with it and you will be writing a review too!

My new assignment at work: Test out toys. Yup, that kind. Well, technically, it’s to test the app that controls the toys remotely. One problem? The showgirl who’s supposed to test the hardware (as in, the actual toys) joins a nunnery. Another problem? This project is important to my Russian boss, the broody, mouthwateringly sexy Vlad, a.k.a. the Impaler. There’s only one solution: Test both the software and the hardware myself...with his help.

Storyline was unique and the writer is so funny!!! I rarely ever laugh that hard and I did so many times in this book. I would even say it felt action-packed in that the entire book flew by and I wanted more. I have downloaded the other 2 books she has written, so it will be interesting if she can keep the humor.
The narration was superb and engages you from the beginning. It has epilogues and I love that too.
Would I recommend this? Absolutely ! Grab a copy immediately!!!

Story
Emily’s entire existence is wrapped up in touring with her up-and-coming country rock band Carolina George and trying to build them into a music legend. Her passionate night with a gorgeous, tattooed bad boy was the result of too much time on the road, too much tequila and combustible physical chemistry. It was never supposed to follow her into the light of day, much less threaten everything she and the band have worked so hard to create.

I have listened to several AL Jackson’s books and have really enjoyed them, until this one. Really?!? The slowest moving book I have listened to in a long time. All I could think throughout this book was, what person doesn’t grow from lessons learned, who is this weak? I have two daughters and they would never be like this. I do not know anyone so meek and weak. My personal opinion is to write about strong independent women that learn and grow, not ones that just roll-over. Wish I could get these hours back!
On a positive note it was a part of Audible Escape.

Good Series

This is the final installment in the Princess/Bastard trilogy.
Here’s what I liked: Good suspenseful story and romance.
Here’s what I disliked: The Ending was rushed and no poetic justice.
It was a long read with a lot of repetition, no closure, no real justice. Honestly, I feel like I wasted hours of my life listening to a story that in the last 10 minutes nada, a terrible unsatisfying ending. I expected much much better due to the main character being a Seal and a Savant. Because of this, it was just disappointing-don’t write about gifts and not have a spectacular ending-your character deserved more and the listeners did too! I loved the narrators, liked some of the writing, hated the ending. If I had purchased this series I would have asked for a refund which would have been a first for me. If you don’t mind wasting time and don’t really care for a great ending, this is the trilogy for you. At least you get all 3 on Audible Escape.

Story
Terminated for inappropriate behavior. I couldn’t believe the letter in my hands. Nine years. Nine damn years I’d worked my butt off for one of the largest companies in America, and I was fired with a form letter when I returned home from a week in Aruba. All because of a video taken when I was on vacation with my friends - a private video made on my private time. Or so I thought.... I cracked open a bottle of wine and wrote my own letter to the gazillionaire CEO telling him what I thought of his company. I didn’t think he’d actually respond.

I do not usually write reviews because I just don’t take the time. This book is worth the time and effort. The beginning of the book started out so funny! As it progressed, it started to address hard topics.. From sexual harassment, foster care and mental illness. Most people do not realize that dementia is a mental illness. And if you live long enough, everyone will have some sort of mental illness during their lifetime. With this being said, the author did a good job highlighting a couple of areas within this disease state. Was her story as in depth on bipolar disorder as I felt it could have been? Not even close. But she did add a component to the story that made me think, which is rare in most romance books.
I felt the ending was rushed a bit, but overall I really liked it. It is so difficult to write a review without giving spoilers. What I will say is that it was more real than most of the HEA books and it will not disappoint!

Edward Fasbender is a devil. He’s my father's biggest rival. He takes what he wants, and he bows to no one. And now Edward Fasbender wants me. I didn’t expect to want him back. Having him is not in the cards, not when a union with him would destroy my father. But that doesn’t mean I can’t play with him a bit. Except, I’ve never played against such a ruthless opponent. Edward is cold and vicious, and my blood has never run hotter. They say you should choose the devil you know, but I've always preferred long odds. Even if it'll get me slain.

This book was so repetitive. And dark. If it is moving toward a love story, it will probably happen in book 10. Just kidding, I will not listen to see.

When you’re born without a trace, no one knows you’re a weapon. I lie for her. I hunt for her. I kill for her. And above all, I betray my mission for her. She doesn’t know why. She doesn’t care why. I do. Treason comes in many forms. Love is one of them. Our training taught me to be a sociopath. A machine. A pawn. Nothing more than a tool for a larger goal, without attachments or feelings. Our teachers forgot one important detail: Pawns shouldn’t have hearts. Yet we do.

I started listening to this because of Andi Arndt and Joe Arden. A bit slow and a ton repetitive. Very predictable. Maybe for the youth, it would be more engaging. What’s up with writers always making females weak and allowing them to accept their fate? Perhaps it is just me, but I am tired of the mean women tearing down each other. And the entire theme is just so far fetched.
