Great Story

Very long but engaging. I particularly liked the recaps before each book starts. I was immersed for the better part of a month. Thanks for a great (two actually) series. I will be listening to Chris Fox’s other series now, and hopefully they are just as good. You’ve gained a follower.

Really enjoyed the series. Fast paced, a little bit of everything, and no stupid ending like some I have read recently.

Bad Ending
Reviewed: 06-13-23
*Spoiler Alert* The minuscule changes at the end fail to encapsulate what could have been a great ending. The lack of one or two more chapters to complete an overview, or even an explanation of the butterfly effect that the journey could have had on the outcome, make me feel robbed. Instead, the ending reminds me of Stephen Kings Dark Tower, but somehow less satisfying, because this Thatcher was supposed to be different, as suggested by his grandfather who met him after the first battle. I’m disappointed in the ending not because it was bad, but because it could have been so much better.
That said, great book. Great journey. I don’t regret reading/listening to it, but I think an alternate sequel could wrap it up nicely.

Omega task force is the first in this series, and this is a nice compliment. Except for the predictable ending, I love everything about these two series. Too bad it is over.

He would avenge the traitorous plot against his noble family and would bring to fruition humankind's most ancient and unattainable dream.

Unlistenable
Reviewed: 02-08-23
I’ve listened to hundreds of audiobooks, and this is the first one I can’t listen to. Production value is that of a high school drama class’s third rated team. Cannot get into it, and it has no rhythm or hook to get engaged. Skip this until they have one with better production, or a single narrator. Wish I could return it.

Story
Since his wife died, Ralph Roberts has been having trouble sleeping. Each night he wakes up a bit earlier until he's barely sleeping at all. During his late-night walks, he observes some strange things going on in Derry, Maine. He sees colored ribbons streaming from people's heads, two strange little men wandering around town after dark, and more. He begins to suspect that these visions are something more than hallucinations brought on by lack of sleep.

The Alt Apocalypse is the ground-breaking, genre-bending series from Tom Abrahams. It explores survival under the most extreme circumstances, but with a twist (and no cliff-hangers). This series, which can be listened to in any order, features the same core characters in each complete story. But every book dunks them into a new, alternate apocalypse; a nuclear holocaust, an earthquake, a flood, a wildfire, a hurricane, a plague, and even zombies.

I really enjoyed the alternate iterations, and the way they were all wrapped up in the end. It’s not like Groundhog Day, the character development spans all the books. Enjoyable and unique, I never wanted it to end. Again. And again.
