Story
Summoned to an abandoned theme park to retrieve a body, Dr. Kay Scarpetta is devastated to learn that the victim is a man she once had an intense love affair with. The murder scene is bizarre, with a crop circle of petals around the body, and Giordano’s skin is strangely red. Scarpetta’s niece Lucy believes he was dropped from an unidentified flying craft. Scarpetta knows an autopsy can reveal the dead’s secrets, but she is shocked to find her friend seems to have deliberately left her a clue.

All those 5 star reviews?
I’ll admit this one was a tad different thank God but it was not her best.
I do like where the characters have gone after all these years.
I actually liked this narrator better than some of the others
Good but not great. A little bit back on track which I do like!

Story
Joanna Eberhart is a creative, self-possessed wife and mother, newly arrived in seemingly idyllic Stepford, Connecticut. But as she and her family begin settling in, she’s jarred by the unaccountable sameness of the local wives: all flawlessly attractive, with perfectly maintained homes—and little seeming interest in anything else. As curiosity turns to concern, Joanna finds herself unraveling a web of malice that threatens her very existence.

The plane is jam-packed. Every seat is taken. So of course the flight is delayed! Flight attendant Allegra Patel likes her job—she’s generally happy with her life, even if she can’t figure out why she hooks up with a man she barely speaks to—but today is her twenty-eighth birthday. She can think of plenty of things she’d rather be doing than placating a bunch of grumpy passengers.

I feel like this was a real “find” . With as many books as I go through , some of the stories start to run together with similarities.
This one did not! Totally fresh and unusual . I loved the story and characters. I won’t spoil the “message” of the book for others because what would the point be for spoiling this fantastic book with others.
This was my first book by this author and I’m sure I’ll be listening or reading the others!

I should have taken a day off of work and listened to the entire book. Not sure why it got bad reviews on Goodreads. Maybe people don’t like books that hit too close to home.
Definitely a book that takes you to a situation that could happen and grows closer every day given current political climates world wide!
