Story
Kazuma and crew have made it through the winter in one piece (for the most part), and they're in dire need of a break...and for stressed and tired adventurers, there's only one place to go—the hot springs! With open-air baths and beautiful mountain scenery, Arcanletia has everything they need for a relaxing vacation. Not only that, but rumor has it the Demon King's army is avoiding the place. The reports also say it's because Aqua's Axis Church scared them off, but her loyal followers can't be that bad, right...?

Not The Best Chapter In The Series
Reviewed: 10-23-24
Overall, I've enjoyed this series. The narrator is brilliant. The storyline had been consistently enjoyable through the first three releases. However, for me, this one lost the momentum and was just largely uninteresting,.

Engaging Performance
Reviewed: 10-23-24
First off, I picked up the series in installments, so it wasn't a bulk "let's see how it plays" purchase. The sorylingis engaging, as are the characters. The narrators ldo do an excellent hob of the material.
That said, I was annoyed with the occasional terms that came into it. I've worked in a number of genres, including isekkai and have always followed the approach that a story can carry itself with embellishments along these lines. Presumably this in an effort to make the character contemporary. While this series isn't as bad as one in which God dropped the f-bomb within 10 minutes of the introduction. Never finished that one and will studiously avoid any of her later material. Personal Preference: for me, spontaneous swearing only acts to break the flow.
As a writer, I try to avoid language issues for this reason, and also as you can ever tell the age of the listener. I run across te same thing in online gaming (yes, I do that too -- ask my long-suffering wife). In that context, I'm disconcerted to hear some players in general game chat run wild (sometimes an exchange can go on for 5 minutes, unmoderated) when I am keenly aware that some of the players on said chat are young teens.
Sooooo, given the interesting story and performances, I would have given an overall 5-star rating. Due to language, it drops 1 star overall.
I honestly wish Audible would allow the addition of a Content button to forewarn potential buyers. Samples generally don't give you advance warning.

A well-written series with a number of particularl
Reviewed: 04-13-24
To date, I've only picked up three of the audio books in this series. It has a number of things going for it. The absorbing plot is tightly tied together, with no unexpected gaps or oversights in the overall story’s progression. The narration is also comfortably smooth and effective. In addition, it’s suitable for family listening, unlike several same-gene titles I picked up in order to analyze similar product being produced.
My sole issue lies in side chapters which break away from linear storytelling, at least one set in the far future and referencing the main character, and other focusing on back-stories concerning side characters. I personally found these distracting and began skipping them.

Not a fan
Reviewed: 12-15-19
I suspected I might not care when it was given me. I'm glad I didn't actually pay for this. If I'd screened a sample, I would have passed on it without a second thought. Any time a reader places their name before the title, I'm already skeptical and somewhat nettled. Frankly, this emerged as a particularly weak production. I have a large collection of Christie on audio. but this one didn't last through an entire playing.
I definitely will not be revisiting it in future, and will avoid anything else bearing the names involved in this project.

Cannot Listen To, Which Is A Pity

Having grown up on these stories, I anticipated a pleasant ride down memory lane. Unfortunately, it became more of a mad careen to frustration within moments of starting out. I absolutely could not get past the infuriating grunt with which Piglet's lines were invariably introduced. This was ruinously jarring the first time. By the third incident I realized I was not fated to revisit this cherished part of my childhood. An awful disservice to Milne's stories.
