Story
Jack Atlas, self-proclaimed 'World's Best Assassin', had a simple plan: retire in style and marry the girl of his dreams. Then he gets placed in The Tower—a divine deathtrap where gods pit their creations against each other for the ultimate prize: eternal paradise for you and your friends. The catch? If you lose, well, let's just say your chances of finding a decent bar in oblivion are slim.

I think this is a worthwhile buy
Reviewed: 12-01-24
I liked this book a lot. I thought it had a lot of great humor and the story kept moving. I'm surprised it has such a low number of reviews, I think this is one of the better books in this genre. Jonathan McClain knocks this one out of the park. as always, he does a great job narrating. give it a shot. it's worth it.

Story
Brin is scarred, but no longer alone. After giving up his evil Rare Class in exchange for the simple and common Glasser, he’s finally been accepted by the people of Hammon’s Bog. But acceptance doesn't guarantee safety. Mirrors and glass spearheads offer little protection against threats both outside and within. An army of undead is lurking in the surrounding forest, cutting them off from the rest of the world. There’s no rescue in sight, and worse, no one knows why the army is there or when it will attack.

Story
Xavier Collins was sitting in class when the System integrated Earth into the Greater Universe, where countless vast kingdoms, empires, and collectives battle for domination. He didn't know what choosing to be a Champion would entail. He just liked the sound of it. But when he's teleported to the aptly-named Tower of Champions, he must face challenges against those who have known about the System since birth.

Nothing Original
Reviewed: 09-20-24
this story is kind of cringe. No aspect of this story is original. everything has been done before, but better in other books. The MC is so annoying. he act like a killer who has to restrain himself from killing other, but 3 days before he was some nerdy writer. talk about wish fulfillment. I was just getting annoyed with the entitlement and inner monologue of the MC.

Story
Reidon Ward's first semester at the Galens Institute hasn't been without reward. In just over half a year he's gone from the weakest cadet at school to one of the strongest in his class, and there's no one left who would argue that his Device, Shido, isn't the most terrifying CAD they've ever laid eyes on. Still, Rei knows that his climb has barely begun, like he knows that the true fight is only just starting. After all… The Sectionals tournament has arrived. Rei, along with Aria, Viv, Catcher, and a couple unexpected squadmates, are about to face the first real battle of their careers.

Viv annoys the hell out of me. she's such a hypocrite. The narrators voices sound like he's telling a bedtime story to a young child. The ridiculous voices bring me out of the story. I wish the narrator reviewed the voices from the previous book, because most of them are pretty different between the 2 books. The story doesn't progress much, kinda felt like filler. Sad we waited 3 years for this.

Story
Becoming a knockoff Dracula in tight leather pants was never part of Vincent’s plans. Neither was being summoned to another world by a cult of vampire wannabes. But both happened. Now, Vincent’s left to pick up the tattered pieces of his humanity as he tries to grow strong enough to keep his family safe. The world is filled with nightmares, and the looming threat of losing his soul stands between his goal and his reality, so it’s not like it will be too hard or anything. Hell should tremble. A good man is going to war.
