Story
Chastity Jeffries and Xavier King come from very different backgrounds, though they have one thing in common: they’re both living with family secrets. Chastity is the only child of a prominent pastor and has been raised with privilege, but her father’s testimony as a philanderer and her mom’s role as dutiful wife have tainted her view of love. Xavier never knew his father, and his mother abandoned him. His grandmother raised him in a household built on cruelty and violence instead of love and acceptance, instilling in him a fear of abandonment and an enormous sense of insecurity.

I Believed the reviews. Unfortunately, it wasn’t a good book. In my opinion the narration was super slow. The story was drawn out very long, and the ending was interesting but typical.

Disappointing Storyline & Narrator!
This book made no sense at all. The main character was stupid to fall for a black male, really she gave in tooo quick without realizing she had a mask in every video, so she couldn’t have denied it being her to her job and told them the new client was a creep who mistook her for someone else. Told her boyfriend the truth. The odd twist that her sister pulled was beyond weird made no sense! Glad it was a free included book, otherwise it was definitely a RETURN

I hate when the writer make their characters- stupid! No way in real life would a mother not use evidence to keep her children. Then she looses it? She acts like she wants them, but her nonchalant attitude is ridiculous.

OMG this was a long-winded book about 4 sister all with issues! Boring, because nobody had any resolution to their situation. I did understand that, especially when it seem like the truth would come out BUT no, they dragged on and on with no real conclusions to anyone situation. Especially the sister with the “secret” it like they were dancing around but never confronted Him about what was happening in a real way! Hopefully there’s a book 2 to answer or reveal the truth and hopefully they get to the point without all the unnecessary dialogue.. i was feeling Sh&(t or get off the pot, get to the point

I don’t agree with the other reviews. It’s not until the book is over and the author tells you what the story is actually about. I was waiting for the connection between the characters. I was like two stories running separately then toward the end their paths crossed and it’s like OKAY?? That’s it?? Then you find out it’s basically a story of the writer life on black adoption and the teens who were shamed into giving up their child.

I managed to get through chapter 23 and unfortunately it’s so underwhelming with the narcissistic attitude to not forget if something is so simple but there’s so many chapters about it it’s ridiculous. I guess she was upset that she didn’t know who he was but multiple chapters of it of the anxiety and stress is ridiculous.

Running and hiding is looked upon as a way out for the weak. It is something Omar never thought he would do. As a child, he didn't even play hide-and-seek for that very reason. Unfortunately, after being sentenced to death by his cousin, Demarcus, Omar was left with no choice. Moving to Detroit wasn't as bad as he thought it would be. It didn't take long for him to reign supreme. The change of location didn't change his conniving and coldhearted ways, however.

Story
Morgan Atkins is used to losing, but losing Messiah Williams was the most tragic of them all. Surely, after Messiah, no other man could compare. Settling with Sebastian Fredrick didn't seem like such an impossible task. He treated her well enough, he accepted her children, and he offered her entrance into a well-connected world. There was only one problem: He wanted to change her into someone else. The rules that went along with his lifestyle suffocated her, and when Morgan reconnected with Messiah's crew, she no longer wanted to play by Bash’s rules.

SUPER Disappointed!!!
Reviewed: 06-18-20
OMG I could not wait to see what happened next. But low and behold every one has lost their mind, all but Ahmeek.
ETHIC strong and sexy is whipped and is now a yes man? MESSIAH treatment of Morgan was less than loving CRUL before he died, then comes to Ethic for forgiveness, with a plea for accepting him back. Then comes back to her with the same to proud, too tough Demanding attitude, a pure a-hole to her and complete tyrant.
BASH is now an abuser and threatening to her life and further and instead of her telling her family she takes the abuse? SMH allow him to blackmail her to stay with him?? And MORGAN Never get to hear Messiahs our, tell him the twins are his. And she so weak she take Bash hitting her? And don’t tell Ethic? Especially the threat on him?? then ends with ARIA getting taken??
Half way through the book I was like what’s going on, who are these people?? They definitely are different character with the same names. The flip flop of them are just as bad as after young Morgan could hear 👂ðŸ?¾Well.... well in Mouth to a flame BUT somehow in the Ethic bookS she was born death. Disappointed on how the storyline is going.
