This book is amazing!!! and EXTREMELY scary. If you don't agree, I have to assume you don't believe in God/Satan. As those tend to be the only "haters" on this epic and informative book. This is the only book I refuse to listen too at night...that should tell you how much it affected me,

When Brian Holloway (Jack Quaid, The Boys) was hired by famous horror author Paul Robinette (Titus Welliver, Bosch) to crack an antique safe in his home, he had no idea what he was about to encounter. Opening that safe door unleashed something sinister — something that continues to haunt him. But what exactly? And can whatever slipped through that threshold be stopped?

A demonic story in cartoon format...
Reviewed: 12-11-20
The Publisher's Summary intrigued me enough to give Battle of the Soul a chance. I'm not sure about you, but when I picture Andy Lorenzo in my head...I see actor Josh Gad. Anyways - I'll make this short - I loved the 1st half of the book. Unfortunately the 2nd half wasn't as intriguing. It has it's parts, but the 1st half was pretty amazing from the get go. I will get the 2nd half props for not doing what I expected of a certain character. Perhaps making the story a little bit more darker would have made this not simply good, but great. For example, when I picture the demons and the "other side". I would normally picture something similar to the film Constantine. Yet I was actually picturing these demonic identities in cartoon form. Either way I did enjoy the listen and I'm pretty sure you will too.

Beelzebub, the prince of demons, is bored. It's his destiny to one day rule the dark underworld known as the Red Realm, but it's sooo boring down there. All he wants to do is lay around all day in the lava pits (ahhh), boss everyone around (rude!), and maybe play a cruel prank (or two). But Beelzebub's father has had it with his son's nasty attitude. No one backtalks the Red King. NO ONE. A disgraced Beelzebub is banished by his father and cursed to spend his days in the worst place either of them can imagine. EARTH.

Sometimes you think "I have nothing to lose" and choose a book you know nothing about. This is one of the few cases in which I lost nothing but gained something. What did I gain? I legit book for young and old. Somewhat reminds me of a better version of Adam Sandler's Little Nicky...which makes for a great book to listen too. Just wish it was longer...

Patiently Waiting for Book 2...
Reviewed: 03-13-20
I was surprised to find out I never wrote a review for this book. I normally do so for the books I absolutely enjoyed and listened more than once. As was the case with "A Time of Demons" (which was later changed to "A time of Demons & Angels"). One of my all time favorite genres is apocalyptic and/or post apocalyptic. Something about mankind's final days and the choices that lead us to them just seems to far fetch, yet so real.
I'm not going to get into details, but as long as you believe in good/evil (God/Satan)...no reason for you not to fall in love with this book.

It's been getting more difficult as each credit rolls around to find a book I enjoy. A book that has a good story, a perfect narrator and it's too short (length)...aren't as plentiful as they once were. Luckily sometimes you'll find yourself a book like Stone Hill, which completely took me by surprise & exceeded my expectations.
PS. My only complaint...a certain character who's always whining about doing something. I can't be the only one who felt like slapping this character!
