Story
Drawing on a wealth of untapped archival materials and the reports of generations of family members - mayors, judges, scholars, diplomats, and journalists - The Hundred Years' War on Palestine upends accepted interpretations of the conflict, which tend, at best, to describe a tragic clash between two peoples with claims to the same territory. Instead, Khalidi traces a hundred years of colonial war on the Palestinians, waged first by the Zionist movement and then Israel, but backed by Britain and the United States, the great powers of the age.

Story
Islam has been one of the most powerful religious, social, and political forces in history. Over the last 1,400 years, from origins in Arabia, a succession of Muslim polities, and later empires expanded to control territories and peoples that ultimately stretched from southern France to East Africa and South East Asia. Yet many of the contributions of Muslim thinkers, scientists, and theologians, not to mention rulers, statesmen, and soldiers, have been occluded. This book rescues from oblivion and neglect some of these personalities and institutions.

What is reality? Ask yourself whether you can actually know the answer, much less be sure that you can know it, and you've begun to grapple with the metaphysical and epistemological quandaries that have occupied, teased, and tormented modern philosophy's greatest intellects since the dawn of modern science and a century before the Enlightenment.

Marijuana has been used for thousands of years as a medicine, but pot has been illegal in the United States for most of our lives. Almost all states have now legalized its medical use, and many consumers and physicians are exploring it as an alternative to conventional treatments. There’s substantial evidence that marijuana (cannabis) is a safe and effective treatment for chronic pain, chemo side effects, sleep and mood disorders, MS, and Parkinson’s disease, among others.

This is a small introduction to Weil's integrative medical philosophy. The neophyte of medical studies may be supriesed to know most of the medical scientific breakthroughs have done us well in the acute setting but as for chronic illnesses we are but managing disease. The integrative approach starts with prevention and if this is not possible looks at all posibilities of helping the body regain its homeostasis.

Spy Triller with theological debates
Reviewed: 12-02-21
I am familiar with Dr. Brown's more academically based theological works but find this format as an exciting way to introduce readers of fiction to the debate of three Abrahamic faiths.
Entertaining story that filled in the debates as the main character Michael developed his theories as PhD in comparative religion that gets caught up in an arvheologic find the discredits Trinitarian theology as well as Paul.
Great read for the seeker and Muslim.

Story
Consciousness, a unique and perplexing mental state, has been the subject of debate for philosophers and scientists for millennia. And while it is widely agreed within contemporary philosophy that consciousness is a problem whose solutions are likely to determine the fate of any number of other problems, there is no settled position on the ultimate nature of consciousness. This series of 12 penetrating and thought-provoking lectures by an acclaimed teacher and scholar approaches its subject directly and unflinchingly.

this short summary of Roseburg's theory our a greasy listen and reminder that we need more understanding of what the other needs and note to understand said needs without reacting to the poor communication techniques they employ via negative feelings. It also teaches that you should avoid expressing negative feelings but seek to communicate your needs and feeling in a nonviolent way.

This was a very hard listen. I do not know if he speaks slowly for a purpose or if it's just a way of his being. Some parts were interesting other were down right boring. If you are a dabbler you may find some spiritual gems. If you are initiated you will find this path a hard path as he is on purpose paradoxical and he has his path. Just not a path for me
