Amber Patterson is fed up. She's tired of being a nobody: a plain, invisible woman who blends into the background. She deserves more - a life of money and power like the one blond-haired, blue-eyed goddess Daphne Parrish takes for granted. To everyone in the exclusive town of Bishops Harbor, Connecticut, Daphne - a socialite and philanthropist - and her real-estate mogul husband, Jackson, are a couple straight out of a fairy tale. Amber's envy could eat her alive...if she didn't have a plan.

I’m amazed at the wit it takes to write such a stellar, twisted novel. I actually listened to this twice. Once when it came out and now, to read its follow up. I wasn’t bored reliving it. I ate it up and am ready for The Next Mrs. Parrish!
Narration is on point!

Kept me guessing!
Reviewed: 02-27-24
Told from perspectives of Carrie & Andi, I was left with my guesses of who the bad guy was with these two voices on different sides.
I was guessing who the murderer was, who had the most secrets. I was on the edge of my seat right until the very end & the heartbreaking conclusion.
Narration was perfection!

For 12-year-old Cora Landry and her friends Violet and Jordyn, it was supposed to be an ordinary sleepover - movies and Ouija and talking about boys. Wow. Just wow. Heather Gudenkauf amazingly wrote so many voices and captured the actions of young girls in stunning fashion. She took a story grabbed from the headlines and turned it on its head. I thought I knew where it was headed several times but at every turn she surprised me right up until the thrilling end!
Narration was on point especially with the young voice.
