Romance author Riley Cooper always dreamed of living by the water. But within a day of landing in the charming seaside town of Port Stewart to work on her latest book, she's getting calls and texts for some dude on her new number. Weird ones. Sad ones. Sexy ones. Ones that make her want to meet him. For curiosity's sake...if nothing else.

Sexy, Sweet and Funny
Reviewed: 10-05-24
I liked that it was Sexy, and yet not overly descriptive about it. Her thoughts about him on how hot he is are relatable..Also, that nothing sexual happened right away.. which was cool. It was sweet because of the care that they had for one another.. without having the true commitment. Funny, which is always pleasant because of the thoughts in her head..and her interactions, not just with Connor, but with pretty much everyone.
Riley is a very likeable person and so is Connor. Most of the other characters are also..Love the story.. highly recommend.

Truly the Unsinkable Debbie Reynolds!

Pretty much broken down into 3 parts. Part 1) Mostly about her 3rd marriage, her casino, and her divorce from her 3rd husband. Part 2) Still trying to keep her casino, and trying to find a place and backers for her movies and TV museum and things that went on during that time. Part 3) Her movies.
All throughout her audiobook she speaks warmly about her friends. And forgiving of some of the people who had hurt her. Not forgiving of others..and rightly so.
She was a loving mother in a time and profession that did not always go well with being close to your children..or even your own parents (she sounds like she was a loving daughter also). Did she make mistakes..? Sure she did, she was only human...and she admits to those mistakes in both humble and humourous ways.
Her stories are interesting, well told in her storytelling way. If you love Debbie Reynolds and her family..her movies.. you'll love this. Though sad to hear it after her death (and there are certain times in her storytelling that are especially sad)..and yet, it brings her back to life!

Story
Despite constant efforts to declutter your home, do papers still accumulate like snowdrifts and clothes pile up like a tangled mess of noodles?Japanese cleaning consultant Marie Kondo takes tidying to a whole new level, promising that if you properly simplify and organize your home once, you'll never have to do it again. Most methods advocate a room-by-room or little-by-little approach, which doom you to pick away at your piles of stuff forever.

Some of the very good ways to things..the narrator sounds robotic a lot of the time.
Reviewed: 09-18-24
I had first read the book many years ago and I took what I liked and let go of what I didn't. I was looking forward to listening to it as I was doing some decluttering (I enjoy reading/listening to a lot of decluttering/minimalism books, I haven't truly mastered it all yet though). However, I ended up stopping it because I, like some of the other reviews..agree that the narrator sounds robotic a lot of the time. I had hoped that it would be sort of a voice that wasn't loud, wasn't super fast, wasn't robotic. I don't remember reading her book and feeling like it seemed so instructional sounding, it seemed more personable .. I don't know, but this isn't really the voice that I heard in my head telling me how to declutter and tidy my home while I was reading it. I think that I may just read her book again if I feel the need to find the things that really help me.
I do agree with a lot of her ways, just not all.

Story
Gable's rise to idol stature was swift. He made close to one hundred films in his lifetime and achieved immortalization in the timeless epic, Gone with the Wind. Off-screen, the man who finally won the indomitable Scarlett O’Hara was even more of a lady’s man than his character. He seduced, and, in several cases, married women of immense wealth to sustain his extravagant lifestyle and further his career.

What a sometimes charming, but terrible Scoundrel
Reviewed: 03-14-24
I didn't like how he treated women, and yet some of them were okay with it. I am a fan of Carole Lombard, and a fan of Gable in so far of his place in her life, as well as an actor.. and his very good looks too. I think that I liked him best when he had good friendships with the women that told him "No" when he went after them, or the ones that didn't chase him either. It was interesting though. And at the times when he could be very kind and thoughtful to people without gaining something from it was nice to know.
On a side note, I was disappointed to hear that the area around the Ranch in Encino that he and Carole Lombard bought was named Clark Gable Estates..I feel that it should have been named Gable/Lombard Estates because my understanding was that she is the one that bought it at the time because he didn't have the money for it due to the cost of his divorce from Ria. However, that was not his doing in the naming.

Loved It!
Reviewed: 07-29-23
Loved it and wanted to hear more, however it was just right. The whole book was memorable, each story was not only a hope from myself that they would each get the help that they needed, but that I myself would learn from them.. and I did. I have to agree with what someone else said.. I'm going to have to buy a hardcopy of it so that I can highlight everything that I felt was helpful to me, there's a lot of good advice or .. I don't know, how it should be said, but it's a great book for a lot of reasons. I do want to sign up with my own Lori or "Wendell". And the Narrator, Brittany Pressley was excellent! Her voice was the perfect therapist voice and story telling voice, though she didn't do an all out voice change for each person, she conveyed each one perfectly. Even if you've read the book already, and you liked it, I would highly recommend the audiobook too. it will make it even better.

Love the book and I loved her reading of Project 333. I have the Ebook and I really enjoyed reading it and found it helpful and it's good to reference when you are in the middle of the challenge. However, it wasn't until I listened to the audiobook to really get motivated! I have listened to it during the challenge and when I'm doing housework or driving..it keeps me going and wanting do it. I know that I won't go down to one in my handbags or get rid of all of my jewelry.. however having just 33 clothing, shoes, handbags and accessories (again, I don't count the jewelry, but I do only wear 4 selected pieces) each season.. really is helpful and less stressful.
I know that some people have said that it's too long or the same information as in her podcast? I don't listen to podcasts so this book was great for me.
