Story
Nerdy Eden Hall isn’t the kind of girl people notice. She’s always lived in her twin’s shadow, always been plain and sensible compared to her sister’s big personality. But when her sister gets engaged to the man Eden secretly loves, it’s inevitable she’ll drink too much at the bachelorette party. It’s not inevitable that she’ll impulsively marry the hottest guy she’s ever laid eyes on, though. Of course they’re going to divorce, but it takes more time to do that than it did to get married. Time in which they’ll discover they’ve got more in common than simply burning up the sheets together.

Loved It!

Just finished the audio book. Loved it! It was worth the wait!
I had read the book and had anxiously waited for the audio version. I was so happy to get it and listen. YAY!
I love all of Lynn's books. I can, and do read and listen to them over and over. Something about them just resonates with me, as I know I will be getting a great story that keeps me involved with the characters and their lives and predicaments. There is always action and they also always involve other characters, either from previous books or introduces me to new ones. In either case the characters are full bodied and real.
This book starts off with an unplanned and unexpected "marriage in Vegas", and the story grows as both Zane and Eden sober up and understand that the quickie marriage was the easy part. A quickie divorce is not a thing to be accomplished fast.
So the story moves along with them having to get to know each other as people and not just in bed, In order to manage the problem of their marriage and how to ease out of it. Yet they also had to maintain the façade that they were happy with the decision to marry. They had undeniable chemistry, but each believed, at the beginning, that the other had previous feelings or relationships that interfered with them making a go of their marriage.
Action happens with an unexpected attack on Eden's boss and Zany and his team are needed to help protect her and her sister.
So a lot is happening all at once, in their marriage, their growing feelings towards each other, the attacks, the reason for the attacks and who's behind them. Lots of questions about everything. .
Wow, a lot going on. Exciting story,
Great narrators always make a great story even more exciting, and these two are really good!

Story
The Aftermath of a stunning victory—especially an unexpected, complete, and final victory—should be high-fives all around, listening to politicians give boring congratulatory speeches, and a well-deserved rest for the Merry Band of Pirates. Yes, the galaxy is still a freakin' mess, but that is nothing new, and for a change, that can be someone else's problem. Until, you know, something really bad happens, and only the Pirates can deal with the problem... Or not.

Story
Lt. Eve Dallas is just home from a long overdue vacation when she responds to a call of an unattended death. The victim is Martin Greenleaf, retired Internal Affairs Captain. At first glance, the scene appears to be suicide, but the closer Eve examines the body, the more suspicious she becomes. An unlocked open window, a loving wife and family, a too-perfect suicide note—Eve's gut says it's a homicide. After all, Greenleaf put a lot of dirty cops away during his forty-seven years in Internal Affairs. It could very well be payback—and she will not rest until the case is closed.

Truly a Hot, Romantic, Sexy Mystery.

With Alaina's rescue, by Ryder as the opening scene of this book, I was immediately hooked.
Ryder had just purchased and moved into his home on the lake, which is when he saw a body floating in the icy water, out his kitchen window. He dove in to bring Alaina to shore and was able to revive her, and bring her body temperature closer to normal.
When he took her to the hospital, he learned more about her and her six year old son Everett. She was single and her and Everett were alone in the world.
Alaina had no memory of how she ended up in the lake. and why her injuries included bruises and abrasions especially around her neck.
Apparently her attack had happened at the camping trailer that she was renting, and her car, purse and phone were there, but no other clue was found. She did not want to go back to live at the the trailer, and Ryder graciously offered to let them stay at his new house as he had a spare bedroom and also a mother-in-law cottage, which she could take a look at, and possibly rent.
Their story unfolds from there. Ryder discovers he likes being around kids, as this was his first real experience with one.
The mystery of the attack and who committed it is present throughout the whole story and it remains a mystery till practically the end. There are a number of suspects but I was totally floored by the actual culprit, and did not guess who it actually was.
This book was a great listen and I really liked the sweet, sexy development of Alaina and Ryders' relationship. The mystery and the threat of another possible attack kept it edgy.
I like knowing that Lynn's books will have a happy ending, interesting and fun characters to get to know, a great story line, and a chance to check in with other characters from the series.
Overall I enjoyed this one a lot and it made me feel good.

Another Hit! Love, Love, Love this series!

This is Gem and Everly's story, and it's a doozy. They first meet in Qu' rim, while Gem (AKA Jax), is on a protection detail for Everly's mom, who is a U.S. Congresswoman, visiting there and Everly is a part of her team. There was an attack on the cars that they were traveling in and Everly sees first hand the job that Gem does, in order to protect them.
They agree to meet up back in the states, and they start dating. The story takes an unexpected twist when Everly abruptly ends their relationship.
Things continue to twist for them as Gem reads in the paper that Everly has become engaged to someone else. and soon she turns up at his door requesting his help in protecting her mother, who is receiving threats.
Gems initial reaction is to say no, but as he is walking her to her car, shots are fired at them.
Now things are super complicated and the story really takes off. Things are heating up in more ways than one and you just have to hold on and go along for the ride and listen to this great story.
I thoroughly, enjoyed Gem and Everly's book and highly recommend it to all who love to be entertained, and love a fun sexy listen.

Mercenary Dax Freed would rather stride into the desert naked and covered in honey than pretend to be a reclusive romance novelist’s fake boyfriend, but nobody gave him the option. Roberta Sharpe writes about heroes for a living, but she already knows they don’t exist in real life. She doesn’t need a former Army Ranger who looks like he could be on her covers camping out in her guest room to prove the theory, but nobody gave her a choice.

BLACK VELVET

Listened to this one twice. New to me narrator, Zachary Webber, had my attention. He is very talented and his different voicing of characters were very good. There was one thing that had me listening again, it was to see if I understood his inflection in certain narration areas of the story. It had me wondering why he inflected it the way he did. On second listening, I realized that I really liked his emphasis in those areas. And hey, never any harm to listen to a good book by a favorite author again, and again and again, so yeah, enjoyed this listen, both times, okay three times. LOL.
The story line is great.
In a nut shell:
It's about a writer of romance novels, Roberta Sharpe (Robbie), and she has some past stalker issues, which the latest book of her very popular series, was seeming to draw back into her life. It was also causing some of her devout fans to have meltdowns over the pairing of her heroine with a different guy than the one everyone thought the series was building up to, So they were not pleased with the “not so happy ending” of it. She was receiving heated and threatening letters and social media comments. Her publisher insisted that she have a bodyguard, enter Dax Freed, BDI computer expert, mercenary and former Army Ranger.
Ian Black, head of BDI, had prepped Dax for this assignment, by having him read the series of romance books that Robbie had written.
Robbie, is an introvert, and was practically a recluse, and had gone through a really bad divorce, in which her ex had left her for a younger woman and taken half her money. She was reluctantly scheduled for a book tour of her latest book which was to start off with an authors forum in Las Vegas. She was not wanting to do either.
Their story unfolds with their initial meeting. With him being jet lagged and her in full recluse mode. Things start off strained, but as threats escalate and the Las Vegas trip looms, their relationship progresses to friendly and trust on Robbie's part. The plot thickens when her ex-husband reenters the picture, adding pressure to an already volatile situation.
Things definitely heat up between Dax and Robbie and so does the “pot” as far as suspects and action, and then things come to an explosive head in Vegas. And eventually a happy ending for Dax and Robbie.
Realized I went on and on about Narrator Zachary Webber, but I also need to mention that I really enjoyed the cadence of Stephanie Nemeth-Parker's narration. Love her voice. Easy to listen to. She is also a new to me narrator and she is totally an instant favorite.
Totally enjoyed this listen and I highly recommend it to everyone who enjoys a good, well written, hot romance with suspense and a happy ending.

Story
When Amos Decker is called to South Florida to investigate a double homicide, the case appears straightforward: A federal judge and her bodyguard have been found dead, the judge’s face sporting a blindfold with two eye holes crudely cut out, a clear sign that she’d made one too many enemies over her years on the bench. What at first seems cut and dry is anything but: Not only did the judge have more enemies than Decker can count—from violent gang members, drug dealers, and smugglers to a resentful ex-husband—but the bodyguard presents additional conundrums that muddy the waters even further.

I listened to this one all the way through in one sitting. Well worth my time. There were so many layers to this story, with lots of twists, and so many clues. It was a great story and kept me intrigued and held my attention all the way through.
A new partner is introduced, which adds even more dimension.
There was also more insight into Amos Decker. About how his gift is possibly changing, and how he copes with the changes, which affects most aspects of his present life and the people in it.
Highly recommend this book.
