...but I still loved this listen ... if you are a STEM oriented person, then you'll love it too.

The bobiverse is expanding, so if you're not caught up, then you'll miss a number of references. However, it's still good as a standalone. I loved the ensemble characters and the communities they've built... especially the new alien species they've encountered and the annoying ones who persist.

The plot arch and conflicts were new and interesting but also grounded. Of course, Ray Porter delivers as always. It's a good book and much more likeable than the last edition (#4)... Frankly, the first 3 are hard too beat but this book was satisfying and I'll definitely be going inn for another listen.

I truly hope this series doesn’t end up like the expeditionary force series that has become trite, predictable, and so formulaic that it’s boring.

Overall, this is worth the time, money, and attention. It's not only entertaining but gets you thinking about civilization and the existential crises that comes along withh it.

I loved that they went into truthful detail of this case.

What I dislike is the inequity, injustice, and murder this young woman, her family, and their tribe suffer to this day.

The melodramatic narrator really ruined it for me.

George Guidal made our hero gritty, authentic, and relatable.

This narrator made rapp sound like a bougie twat incapable of getting into a fight without breaking a nail. Better suited fo another character and storyline.

Poor choice in casting.

First of all, I found the narrator to be a bit too formal and posh - the main characters’ origins don’t begin so privileged. Her English accent also sounds forced and cringe worthy.

The last chapters seemed rushed and abrupt- a very different pace than the first half of the book. I agree with prior reviewers- it’s like the Author didn’t feel committed any more or simply gave up.

The premise is brilliant- but lacked a bit of cultural and scientific research to increase believability. I never thought I’d say this- but the Amazon tv show is SIGNIFICANTLY better than this book.

Save your book credit and buy a different story to enjoy…or at least wait until they decide to remaster this audiobook.

Good story but the narrator was so melodramatic that it was distracting and annoying. Her voice was too breathy, fake, and just too much. I recommend rerecording

While the topic and discussion good, the quality of audio is mediocre at best, I also believe they need to get a proper editor to clean up the pace and mix sound better.

Overall, there's a need to polish the production of this podcast.

Without spoiling this book, if you have a pulse and have been following current events... and are familiar with the characters throughout this series, this book will render you speechless. Great narration, great character development (throughout this novel and prior books), clever storyline, and great pacing. There are 2 character twists you will NOT be expecting if you are a fan - they will significantly change character arcs and I am HERE FOR IT!

For a while, the books in this series seemed to be following the same formula. Deranged Russian, US Politician, or Arab, plot to overthrow/murder/cheat, and then Mitch Rapp/team come to the rescue.

Not this book... or the last 2, honestly. Be prepared for some good twists and subtle turns. Be prepared for the subtle, bittersweet nods to vets ... and how tough it is to transition to civilian life after years of combat. Be prepared to wish that these books would take off into a movie series...but most of all, be prepared to want to see the next book.

I loved this book - I reread and listened because the story developed so well. I was left wanting more...and to see what happens to Mitch, his team, and Irene Kennedy after all this. They are revelations here that will really change the dynamics of these books going forward - I can't wait to see where Mills takes us on Rapp's journey next.

At once, I realise how self-reflective this book is. Noah is not apologetic, nor is he defensive. His stories are funny, sad, and even hopeful. The time goes by quickly because you're really drawn into this world that he grew up in.

I loved this book even though I didn't think I would. He is at once, charming, mischievous, and a bit sad. But his love and admiration for his mother is palpable - and for good reason. He's not hateful or resentful as one could easily become given the circumstances of his life. I love how he's approached the situations he finds himself in with humour, wit, and a bit of luck...you can't help but to cheer him and his mother on.

You're taken on a journey into his life where you'll laugh at the absurdity of white privilege, apartheid, and what it means to live with one foot in one world and the other foot in yet another. I can relate to what it means to not necessarily be accepted as black, or coloured, or white ... you're all things and yet none ... and having to live in the worlds that these races and cultures define.

Give this book a chance - it's a delightful read if you are secure enough in your own identity to appreciate his perspective and experience.

You've won a new fan, Mr Trevor!

Shockingly fun. It was well-written and well-planned in terms of story, world building, and plot development. I liked the variant personalities of the Bobs and how their existence was a story in and of itself - not to mention the adventures and scenarios they got themselves into. I wish I were a Bob in so many ways

Where does The Last Kingdom rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I enjoy a good series - this ranks up there in the top 5

Who was your favorite character and why?

Can't say - but I love the dynamic between Shadow and Wednesday...they're incorrigible, but compelling and delightfully entertaining.

Any additional comments?

Original and unique storyline, solid character development, adequate world-building, and interesting metaphysical/mythology inserts. Not too "out there", but not conventional storytelling in the slightest. I can see why this series was picked up for film/TV - I highly suggest getting versed in ancient mythology to enjoy all the references, characters introduced, and plotlines. This is a wholly enjoyable read (and listen!) and I really look forward to reading the next book. The narrator was excellent - each character he portrayed was believable and unique - excellent performance.
