Story
Kailyn Flowers was always calm, rational, and controlled—until she ended up sprawled all over Daxton Hughes, the former actor she totally crushed on as a teenager. Then she did the unthinkable: She became a mortifying fangirl in five seconds flat, which may or may not have included professing her undying love. And oddly, he didn't run away. In fact, their meet cute led to a friendship she never saw coming. Of course, she never saw his betrayal coming, either....

His classmates may consider him a nerd, but Benedict Pendleton knows he's destined for great things. All he has to do is find a worthy girlfriend, and his social station will be secured. Sure, Benedict is different - but that's what he likes about himself. Pen Lupo is sick and tired of hiding who she is. On the outside Pen is popular, quiet, and deferential to her boyfriend. On the inside, however, Pen is honest, opinionated - and not sure that she's quite like other girls.

Really slow book
Reviewed: 06-23-19
This was the slowest paced book I think I've ever listened to. I was struggling until about chapter 30 when things finally picked up and it got interesting. The dialogue was narrated well, but the rest of the text was read off like a robot. It sounded like my Alexa was reading to me through most of it. It was a good story, but not my cup of tea.

I was hesitant downloading this book but I'm glad I did. The sound and production quality blew me away and so did the voice actors. The only issue I had was I would have never guessed the characters were around 13 years old. The age range should have been late teens due to the dialogue structure. Honestly though that didn't bother me enough to not enjoy the book. I also thought it was be pretty obvious how the end was going to turn out, but I was wrong. Great book.

The only downside was the ending didn't feel like the end. I so wish it would have went into more detail in a few areas. The book felt like it just dropped off and that there should be another book to clear things up.

Lately I've run into quite a few books that have been great until the end ruins it so I was skeptical about this one. I am so glad I gave it a chance. This book and the narration done was perfect from beginning to end.
