I hope that Ms. Robb hires a new ghostwriter. The last 3 books (#'s 57, 58, 59) are slow going. Most of her delightful quirky characters are barely mentioned, and the dialogue drones on and on. I have to admit that I dozed off at one point. I have read all of the "in death" books, and the humor, excitement, fun are all missing. The futuristic descriptions are lacking and the imagination is gone. The long psychological passages are like reading a psych 101 textbook. Please, Dallas deserves a better writer! Please, get someone who can put the quirky, the imagination, and the fun back into your books!

Interesting story but I guessed the culprit long before the end, However the heroine, who is smart and capable, is constantly being wrapped in cotton. She doesn't need the men to solve the mystery, she doesn't need the men at all. Is that how Asian women are treated?

I don't know what to say. It seems that every time Ms Boyle got a new idea while writing her book, she just threw it in to the plot willy nilly. Its all over the place, Very disorganized. Ridiculous. Too much.

I"ve only heard a couple of chapters because I fell asleep, Your AI reader is just a fraction too slow, the words are slightly drawn out, too careful, the pauses a bit too long, and that disturbs the pace. I might like the story, but... I'd like to start again with an actual narrator who gets the timing right. Your AI reader is taking jobs away from good people who have a highly competitive career. It cannot compete with trained reflexes, voices that portray emotion, and good timing that takes years to build up. It gets a "thumbs down" from me.

I love all of the Harmony novels. The imagination to come up with a whole new world and its customs, and inventions is wonderful. I see a lot of complaints about the narrator when reading the reviews. Barbara Rosenblat is a really good reader. I have heard many books read by her. Twenty years ago she had a lovely alto voice. Her voice now is a "whiskey voice". That can be caused by an accident to the vocal cords, or she caused it by smoking and drinking a lot of hard liquor. It makes it hard to tell whether the voice is male or female, and definitely sounds older. Yes, her voice doesn't sound like the heroine, but she is telling the story, not being the character.
I have (i hope) all of the Harmony novels and recommend them as light. entertaining and a pleasant way to pass the time.

The book is fairly well written. They say that adolescent boys think about sex every 30 seconds and this author seems to follow that guideline. Enough already!!! Sex, fighting, sex, fighting. Where's the plot? Get back at the other guy? There's a story somewhere. The sex actually got boring. Unless there is a prurient interest, don't bother.

Too much teenage angst. If you removed 60% of the Angst and added another storyline you would have a decent read.

This story fills in a gap and explains what has happened with Piemur, Menolly, Seabel. I can tell that the author is not Anne McCaffrey. The flow is not quite as smooth, a little choppy at times, but still enjoyable. It is interesting to hear a different narrator. The names are pronounced differently than in the older books. I think that the narrator (who is not named on the cover page) should have listened to other books in the series so that names, such as Ramoth, were pronounced the same. That would help tie everything together. I enjoyed this book and hope that more are to follow.
