Not good

This book takes the art of imagination to a whole new level, I mean seriously, it's like expecting a trained seal to hold off taking a shot until the play is over only to completely miss it. Sure, he can effortlessly take down four members of a hit team, but hitting a man sitting right in front of him? Nope, not happening. And don't even get me started on the whole team being surprised when he leaves for a mission, like come on people, isn't predicting these things part of your job description? It's like these books have done a complete 180 from where they started. Maybe it's just me, but I can't handle this level of stupidity in writing as I grow older. I can tell you with 100% certainty that a badass Navy SEAL like John would never miss a target sitting in a seat, for heaven's sake! If you decide to read the book, buckle up and prepare yourself for the unnecessary drama it throws in just for kicks.

Miles Morales is just your average teenager. Dinner every Sunday with his parents, chilling out playing old-school video games with his best friend, Ganke, crushing on brainy, beautiful poet Alicia. He's even got a scholarship spot at the prestigious Brooklyn Visions Academy. Oh yeah, and he's Spider Man. But lately Miles' Spidey-sense has been on the fritz. When a misunderstanding leads to his suspension from school, Miles begins to question his abilities.

I was hoping for more superhero stuff. I loved the movies and was hoping this book was going to be similar to the movie but not even close and the story wasn't very superhero comic book style.

Between November 1966 and December 1967, the small Appalachian town of Point Pleasant, West Virginia, was stalked and harassed by a terrifying entity dubbed the Mothman. Over a half a century has passed since the tragedy in Point Pleasant when Billy Slater and his mom move to the small town, blissfully unaware of the horrific things that have cast a dark cloud over the town to this very day. But then, in one sudden gust of unimaginable horror, the close-knit community of Point Pleasant is thrust back into the same madness, chaos, and nerve-shredding fear they suffered years earlier.

Story
We’ve all heard the disturbing tales and creepy urban legends about the decaying old building sitting on Dudley Road. But when my friends and I finally gathered up the courage to visit, we concluded they were nothing more than silly stories. We were wrong. When we left, we took something with us–and now they want it back. I’m being haunted, and they swear they won’t rest until I return it to them. I try to ignore them...but when paranormal events start terrorizing me, I know they’re dead serious. And when my friends start going missing one by one, I’m terrified that I’m next....

What to say about the book
Reviewed: 04-05-23
It is a very good book for some people. I really enjoyed it for one reason but I can't put that reason out here or it will spoil the book for a new reader. If you are wanting a crazy horror book this one is not it. This one is more of a thinker horror book. I'm safe to say some people will not like it and how it ends others like me don't really mind and enjoy this type of reading. So if you hate sorry. If you love it leave a review and let me know what you think.

How to rate this book
Reviewed: 01-29-23
This is one of those odd books I finished and would not say I loved nor would I say I hated it. I don't think this book falls into the horror or superhero book groups. They need better audio equipment to record a book for sure a lot of background noses . With the storyline it was ok but the ending left a lot to desire. You read this whole book for it to just come to a flat ending. I'd explain more but don't want to give any spoilers away. I don't know if I would recommend this book or not. But if you are looking for a horror book I skip it if you are looking for a light spooky book you might try it. My advice flip a coin heads you read it tails you don't.
