Some of the Best of Battletech

An easy listen start to finish. Recommend some background in Battletech lore but the book does an acceptable job of filling in some details. I'd check reddit for a listening order. Highly recommended.

Simple, but enjoyable

First off, the real winner is the narrator. With relatively versatile range, he delivered well and for the most part well distinguished the characters from one another. Female voices were particular impressive given his low tones. Excellent performance
As for the story it was overall pretty simple and very at face value. At no point was a major plot twist a real ringer leaving the story as a whole relatively predictable. The main characters never really feel like they grow throughout the story with the primary antagonist experiencing the most character growth in a very short span of time.
Also not sure how many times the author could've used the phrase "hit back", but it was too often to be sure.
That said, despite some shortcomings, I did finish and largely enjoy the series. Just don't expect to be blown away. Would recommend.
