Story
It's been three long years since Deadbreak. That's what everyone's calling it - the day the dead rose. Every day since then, Jeremiah Reid has had one goal: to make his way back to his daughter. With his four-legged companion, Joe, Jeremiah has to travel a lawless wasteland teeming with zombies, bandits, and worse, like people who put anchovies on pizza (you know who you are). It's a new world out there, and no one is safe. People are weary, cities are in ruin, supplies are scarce, and brains are on the menu.

a very pleasant surprise!

I bought this book on sale without knowing anything about the author. It is a lot more than just a zombie book. yes there is lots of action and adventure and killing of zombies, but there is also good character development, humor and a terrific narrator. I would definitely recommend.

I normally like Nora Roberts but this book is not one of her best
The narrator's attempts at British accents were just awful. It was like listening to chalk screeching on a black board and, for me, made the book impossible to finish.

I have enjoyed other books by this author but the characters in this one were so predictable as was the story that I could not get into it at all. Very trite. Worse still, I happen to be Scottish and the narrator's efforts at a Scottish accent were just awful..

Plain-spoken, headstrong Ophelia cares little about appearances. Her ability to read the past of objects is unmatched in all of Anima, and, what’s more, she possesses the ability to travel through mirrors, a skill passed down to her from previous generations. Her idyllic life is disrupted, however, when she is promised in marriage to Thorn, a taciturn and influential member of a distant clan. She must leave all she knows behind and follow her fiancé to Citaceleste, the capital of a cold, icy ark known as the Pole, where danger lurks around every corner and nobody can be trusted.
