Good depictions of what Britain was like after the Norman (a.k.a) Viking invasion. Loved the main characters and how they survived the brutal world they inhabited.

A wonderful read, beautifully written. Great characters; the author’s excellent sense of humor makes this the book or Audible a must if you need a pickup! the scathing remarks made me laugh out loud.

Not only is the book well plotted, the narrator is excellent. Enoch plausibly incorporates number of threads in the plot, from the Evil narcissist, an isolated genius hero and to a very likable heroine. Aspects of the class system enrich the plot as well. Altogether most satisfactory.

I looked forward to trying out Sandra Sookoo’s new Romane but could not enjoy it as I decided to go for the Audible audio. Unfortunately, I found Amelia Rose’s narration difficult to listen to as it was very fast, without nuanced language , and actually rather mumbled.
