Story
Emily knew there would be strings attached when she relocated to the small town of Willow Creek, Maryland, for the summer to help her sister recover from an accident, but who could anticipate getting roped into volunteering for the local Renaissance Faire alongside her teenaged niece? Or that the irritating and inscrutable schoolteacher in charge of the volunteers would be so annoying that she finds it impossible to stop thinking about him?

I’ve enjoyed this authors books. I actually read the third one before this one, but I enjoyed it enough to go back and buy this one.
I did realize in going through this and that I’ve gotten really spoiled with duet books where I get to know what the main male character is thinking throughout the book and that is probably one of the few things that kept the story from being a five star story. That’s just personal preference though.
Since listening to this second book, I went ahead and downloaded the other two books in the series and will listen to book 2 and listen to book 4 this week

Story
The last thing I remember is having drinks at Brady's and trying to avoid eye-contact with my life-long crush - the gorgeous, unattainable Maximilian Hallowell. They tell me that was a year ago, but I have no memories of anything since then. What I do have is this ring on my finger that Max says he gave me, and this much-thinner body I've dreamed of most of my life. Aside from a case of retrograde amnesia, everything seems almost... perfect.

Story
I’m damn good at my job. So if I swipe my boss’s event invitations from time to time, it’s kind of like a much-earned bonus. He’ll never miss them, and I get a five-star free meal in the company of men in well-fitted suits. But then he shows up at an award’s dinner that I’m most definitely not supposed to be at. Lucky for me, when my boss accuses me of stealing his ticket, a hot swoony man in a tux steps in and says, “She came with me. Now I owe the stranger one, which is totally cool.

This one just didn't do it for me. So sad because I've really liked the rest of this series. The MFC just seemed so vapid and vain. This narrator killed it for me too. With another narrator, I might have been more inclined to get into it.

Story
Halloween: it’s a holiday where people shed their boring everyday personalities and become fantastic beings ready for an epic party. Well, guess what? That’s Billy Boston 24/7, 365, baby! It’s who I was before I became a millionaire and it’s who I’ll always be. My beautiful next door neighbor, Donna, is a hardworking nurse who takes her job seriously and her fun even more so. All she wants is a no-strings arrangement and that’s fine by me. It’s Halloween for us every time we’re together because she likes to role play.

I enjoy Kylie’s writing.
Reviewed: 08-25-24
I like that she writes about mature adults characters where at least one of them can communicate in a healthy way. But then it doesn't feel like there’s much climax to the story. I like the characters; however, sometimes it seems like there’s no there because there’s not much angst.
I also think I would have liked this as a long story. I felt like we reverted to the Stage Dive Crew and our couple got a bit lost.
I will continue to read Kylie and suggest her to friends.

While I like Engle and Brentmoor, both seemed to sound older than the characters they portrayed.
It was a good listen for a hot summer day while I was either in the kitchen or sipping on iced tea.
The whole series has been a fun time. She always has strong rom come without resorting to impossible situations like some rom-com authors.
Definitely worth the credits!

Story
Love was a losing battle for this country music darling and a single dad, baseball star until one night brings them together and one small town sets the playing field for a possible winning streak. They call me Lady Boss. Maneater. Queen. But beneath the makeup, blond wig, and glitzy costumes, I’m just a country girl who likes to sing. I don’t hate men, I’m just struggling to find a good one. I’ve learned my lesson. Fool me once, and it will never, ever happen again. So I’m baffled when I meet Ford Sylver.

Nevertheless, I look forward to book 4.
