I love this story - and the film adaptation. Great murder mystery filled with plenty of twists and turns. Fantastic character development - written in a way that gives the author immense credibility in regards to the Boston area and the gentrification of these areas. Well-narrated and entertaining.

A book full of "what if..."
Reviewed: 07-18-18
Great narration for this book - the narrator does a great job of delivering the stories in a way that keeps you interested and synced up with the timeline of events. The stories, though, are lacking in a way that I didn't expect from Douglas. At times he seems pompous with his assertions, and at other times he seems to be simply stirring the pot for the sake of adding words to the page. The Jack the Ripper recap and theories seemingly drag on forever, while some of the other subjects seem like they could have used more analysis. Overall, not a bad book, just not a great one. Read Mindhunter instead, if you haven't already done so.

Dallman the facts and no fluff
Reviewed: 05-08-18
The authors do an exceptional job of presenting these countless stories from a strictly fact based perspective. At first, I was disappointed that there was not more analysis of each killer. However, as I continued to listen, I grew to appreciate that each author stuck to the facts that are researchable and left it to the listener to decipher the motive behind a lot of these atrocities. Well narrated and well written

Story
On November 22, 1963, three shots rang out in Dallas, President Kennedy died, and the world changed. What if you could change it back? In this brilliantly conceived tour de force, Stephen King - who has absorbed the social, political, and popular culture of his generation more imaginatively and thoroughly than any other writer - takes listeners on an incredible journey into the past and the possibility of altering it.

Extremely entertaining. King does a great job of painting the scenery as always. Wasson gives a wonderful performance with the narration. A long, but worthwhile listen.
