Story
Known as 'The Metal God' by his devoted, global fan base, Rob Halford has always subverted the norm, and Confess will offer listeners a compelling and honest look at the struggles he has faced with addiction and his sexuality, as well as an exploration of his music and his many brushes with controversy. There have been few vocalists in the history of heavy metal whose singing style has been as influential and instantly recognisable as Halford's.

I'm not a metal fan, but I thought that this book was excellent, Robs no nonsense approach to life is refreshing.
He reads it very well and there's a wonderful subtle sense of humour throughout.

Story
A jaw-dropping account of life as a prison officer in one of the country's most notorious jails. Neil ‘Sam’ Samworth spent 11 years working as a prison officer in HMP Manchester, aka Strangeways. A tough Yorkshireman with a soft heart, Sam had to deal with it all - gangsters and gangbangers, terrorists and psychopaths, addicts and the mentally ill. Men who should not be locked up and men who should never be let out. Strangeways is a shocking and at times darkly funny account of life in a high-security prison.

I enjoyed this book, very well read and well written. It tells the story of a nice caring guy working in a hostile environment for too long and with too little support. This should be a warning to anyone in the armed services or front line workers.

Story
'Between the Stops is a sort of a memoir, my sort. It's about a bus trip really, because it's my view from the Number 12 bus (mostly top deck, the seat at the front on the right), a double-decker that plies its way from Dulwich, in South East London, where I was living, to where I sometimes work - at the BBC, in the heart of the capital. It's not a sensible way to write a memoir at all, probably, but it's the way things pop into your head as you travel, so it's my way'.

Too Woke
Reviewed: 01-27-21
I love Sandi, she's been a part of British comedy since I can remember, always very witty, intelligent and sharp. A great story teller. The premise for this book is great, pulling historical and personal stories from a bus route through London. That part of the book is fantastic, stories of Sandi's life come through in vivid and humorous detail, the problem is that dispersed between or as part of the narrative there's an activist over current going on. It's anti male (even though it seems a lot of Sandi's great relationships and helping hands have come from her male friends and her worst experiences at the hands of females), giving higher moral virtue to women and black people even if they've been clearly rude or obnoxious to her. I think we should treat all people with love and respect, it shouldn't matter your sexual preference, skin colour, height, gender. No one gets a free pass to treat you poorly because of their group identity. So I'm sorry to say I couldn't make it all the way through, the constant interruptions with virtue signalling turned me off what I'd hoped the book would be.

In a year when South Korea announced that its new robotics museum will be built by robots, and French cheese terrorists put a camembert through every French MPs letterbox, The Book of the Year returns with another dose of barely believable yet bona fide facts and stories from the past 12 months. Story
In The Madness of Crowds Douglas Murray investigates the dangers of ‘woke’ culture and the rise of identity politics. In lively, razor-sharp prose he examines the most controversial issues of our moment: sexuality, gender, technology and race, with interludes on the Marxist foundations of ‘wokeness’, the impact of tech and how, in an increasingly online culture, we must relearn the ability to forgive.

Common sense rebuttal of wokeness.

Murray lays out the arguments against some of the most ridiculous arguments posited by the SJW's. His arguments are well thought out and thorough while not being without humanity.
I'm not sure this book is aimed at conservatives and I wouldn't really call myself a conservative, I would say the book is logical and rational without being hyperbolic, it lays out the facts so you can see the poor thinking and blind ideology behind the woke activism.

Lots of music start stories
Reviewed: 01-27-21
Dave has worked with them all and is a great musician in his own right. You'll get some great stories about some of the biggest stars in the music business from Dylan, Petty, Harrison and of course Annie Lennox.
The stories move along nicely, Dave has a soft Newcastle accent which is great, but when he reads the book his voice goes up at the end of most sentences like he's asking a question, you get used to it after a while.

In fascinating and personal detail, and based on exclusive diaries and audio recordings from his mission, Tim Peake takes listeners closer than ever before to experience what life in space is really like: the sacrifice that astronauts make in being apart from their families, the sights, the smells, the fear, the exhilaration and the deep and abiding wonder of the view from space. Limitless is a book about the power of following our dreams - however unlikely they may seem - and of striving to reach our potential, even when we might not believe in it ourselves.
