In a book both articulate and desperately needed, bestselling author Senator Ted Cruz provides a long overdue argument against the woke takeover of education, big business, the media, and Hollywood.

Interesting and well supported with cited sources. What I like most about this book is why I like and follow Cruz. He doesn't just throw out statements. He researches and prepares and then supplies the evidence for supporting his conclusions

Story
For more than two centuries, the land of Albion has been ruled by the supposedly benevolent Watchmaker, who imposes precision on every aspect of life. Young Owen Hardy from the village of Barrel Arbor dreams of seeing the big city and the breathtaking Clockwork Angels that dispense wisdom to the people, maybe even catching a glimpse of the Watchmaker himself. He watches the steamliners drift by, powered by alchemical energy, as they head toward Crown City....

I found the story enthralling and difficult to put down. The only negative was that it ended.
Kevin Anderson has written two more "clockwork" stories, and as much as I dislike series. I am considering purchasing both of them.

Story
James A. Garfield may have been the most extraordinary man ever elected president. Born into abject poverty, he rose to become a wunderkind scholar, a Civil War hero, and a renowned and admired reformist congressman. Nominated for president against his will, he engaged in a fierce battle with the corrupt political establishment. But four months after his inauguration, a deranged office seeker tracked Garfield down and shot him in the back. But the shot didn’t kill Garfield. The drama of what happened subsequently is a powerful story of a nation in turmoil.

initially drawing in the listener based on the depth and intrest of histirical merit.
At the end o e cannot help but continue listening, even as you know the outcome, based on the emotional tumult what happened.
If you have seen the Amazon Prime movie "American Experience: Murder of a President." based on this book, you must read this book. As the historians do not relay the fact well and more is left out than included.

A good, but not fully accurate account.

Story telling and flow of book are great. Yet the omission of key fact change the perceptions of events.
