Story
I know my brother is dead. But sometimes Mama gets confused. There’s plenty about the grownup world that six-year-old Aoife doesn’t understand. Like what happened to her big brother Theo and why her mama is in the hospital instead of home where she belongs. Uncle Donny says she just needs to be patient, but Aoife’s sure her mama won’t be able to come home until Aoife learns what really happened to her brother. The trouble is no one wants to talk about Theo because he was murdered. But by whom?

Good story terrible narration
Reviewed: 02-20-22
Not sure why the narrator chose to read like a six year old. Those of us who listen are adept enough to know the main character is 6 years old. We don’t need 10 hours of a six year old voice. Too bad bc the story was very good.

Story
The victims are all found face-down in the murky waters of the creek that runs through Cherokee Pointe, Tennessee. They are naked, except for the black satin ribbon tied around their necks. And each murdered woman shares a single characteristic... they are all redheads... Socialite Reve Sorrell has come to Cherokee Pointe seeking answers about her family history and her shocking connection to wrong-side-of-the-tracks Jazzy Talbot. With their stunning good looks and shining red hair, the two are mirror images of each other—twins abandoned at birth and raised in very different worlds.

Read it bc it was part of a series but didn’t need to

The narrator really made it very hard to listen too. Her inflections were so difficult. Then the story was just eh. I’ve loved his other books so onto the next.

Story
Since she was nine years old, Alina Dziak knew she would marry her best friend, Tomasz. Now 15 and engaged, Alina is unconcerned by reports of Nazi soldiers at the Polish border, believing her neighbors that they pose no real threat, and dreams instead of the day Tomasz returns from college in Warsaw so they can be married. But little by little, injustice by brutal injustice, the Nazi occupation takes hold, and Alina’s tiny rural village, its families, are divided by fear and hate. Then, as the fabric of their lives is slowly picked apart, Tomasz disappears.

This is a great story but when things started to come together they missed explaining the most important part. How did Alice look so much like Tomas’ sister? No one addressed that part in Alice’s world. Aliana explained it in her narrative but they never made the connection in Alice’s! This makes no sense.
