Love this series and the quirky narration
Reviewed: 08-02-23
One of the reasons I listen to this series is because of the narrator who does a great job of providing color and depth of these characters giving me a delightful visual of them and their surroundings. The relationship with Swift and Lenox is like brothers that love each other but drive each other crazy and when they are on the same page - magic happens. How could you not love this series that is funny, exciting, nail biting and loving. Hoping Lenox finds true love.

Story
There's a damsel in distress and accusations of attempted murder flying around, but it's not in the comfortable confines of the English countryside; it's in the very distant city of Damascus. Lennox must go and investigate, although he's not too keen on exotic locations, and his old retainer Greggs is distinctly averse to the very idea. Nevertheless, ex-Chief Inspector Swift persuades them, and they reach the ancient city to discover a movie crew, a spy, and a couple of mysterious ladies.

Every time I had a break I was reading this cozy mystery - I was always intrigued. The energy between Swift and Lenox is like two brothers that compliment each other but gets on the last nerve. Enjoyed every colorful detail and rich character. The narrator is EXCEPTIONAL and quirky. Can wait to read where Lenox and Percy end up.

Big fan of Dervla McTiernan books. This is my 5th read. This story was good and interesting but not as strong as the others. The last few chapters were suspenseful and the ending, I liked the way it ended. That mother was a mess!

In an action-packed case where simply everyone has a motive for wanting Alaric dead, Posie's investigation starts off in the English Cotswolds, takes her through the glamorous South of France, on to the mysterious island of Ortigia in Italy, and then into the Tombs of the Pharaohs in Egypt.

Imaginative, colorful and exciting. I loved every character and what a story. I thought I had it figured out - boy was I wrong. I can’t remember the last time I was so excited about a book. I could not stop listening and had several people ask what I was listening to - they even enjoyed it. Great work.
