WHOA. This was amazing, I love these audible original dramatized stories! It feels like watching a play in your mind. This was dark and twisted, and had far too much profanity for me, but I couldn't stop listening until I knew the full tangled sequence of events!
I absolutely loved hearing Alexis Bledel as Gin!!

Enjoying this cozy light series
Reviewed: 05-28-24
These are a fun listen with light romance, mystery, and intrigue, while containing nothing unpleasant in language or content. The narrator is wonderful, and she distinguishes voices so you always know which character is speaking. I listen to these books in the car, doing dishes, folding laundry, and before bed, and they are a calming respite I thoroughly enjoy.

Story
Frances Wynn, the American-born Countess of Harleigh, enjoys more freedom as a widow than she did as a wife. After an obligatory year spent mourning her philandering husband, Reggie, she puts aside her drab black gowns, leaving the countryside and her money-grubbing in-laws behind. With her young daughter in tow, Frances rents a home in Belgravia and prepares to welcome her sister, Lily, arriving from New York - for her first London season.

Terrible
Reviewed: 03-02-24
I have no words for how awful this book turned out to be!! I honestly don’t know what it was about. It was supposed to be a thriller, but read more like a hallmark movie about nice neighbors. There was no good explanation as to why this woman hid away, and it ended so abruptly I thought some chapters must be missing. It felt as if the story ended before the climax. So confusing. I sincerely hope her other books are better.

Story
Photographer Isla Wilson is thrilled she's landed her dream job, but the clients who hired her are getting stranger by the day. It sounded so perfect—a month's assignment at the lush Scottish Highlands property of architect Alban McGregor, and his wife, Jessica. But in the woods, there's a playhouse with a chilling history. Two years ago, the McGregors' daughter Elodie was abducted and then died in that playhouse. The townspeople insist her abductor had to be a stranger in their town. Alban refuses to knock the playhouse down, even keeping a picture of it on his wall.

Intriguing story!
Reviewed: 10-07-22
Loved this audiobook! Excellent narrator, intriguing plot (albeit a tad implausible, but I was happy to not have guessed the major twist). I thought it was perhaps longer than necessary; there were definitely chunks of the narrative with nothing happening that would've been best on the cutting room floor... However, I still highly recommend this if you’re looking for an atmospheric winter listen with an intriguing and original storyline.
