Story
Having spent almost half his lifetime in California's state penitentiary system, convicted killer Edgar Smith died in obscurity in 2017 at the age of eighty-three—a miracle, really, as he was meant to be executed nearly six decades earlier. Tried and convicted in the state of New Jersey for the 1957 murder of fifteen-year-old Victoria Zielinski, Smith was once the most famous convict in America.

This shows how much influence public opinion has on justice, how a few people can change opinions by not having all the facts.
It made me think about all of these podcasts that only tell you or know part of the evidence, that unless you were at the trial or know all the facts you can not pass judgement. We have to be careful when we try to convince others of what we think we know.

Everyone is always telling Stone Barrington that he’s too smart to be a cop, but it’s pure luck that places him on the streets in the dead of night, just in time to witness the horrifying incident that turns his life inside out. Suddenly he is on the front page of every New York newspaper and his life is hopelessly entwined in the increasingly shocking life (and perhaps death) of Sasha Nijinsky, the country’s hottest and most beautiful television anchorwoman.

I enjoyed this for a first book of this character. It showed great promise, but it was not great. The story only got going later in the book, and then I felt like the ending was rushed. I will definitely read more. I found it very difficult to place this book in time but after a while I just went with it.

I enjoyed the story and the characters each of the characters were different enough so that you could follow each of them. It was exciting to listen to. The twists and turns were good, out of all books, I have read there were moments in this book that really made me jump which I so enjoyed. Overall, a really good book.

Story
Nicolas Cage is many things, but love him, or laugh at him, there's no denying two things: You've seen one of his many films, and you certainly know his name. But who is he, really, and why has his career endured for over 40 years, with more than a hundred films, and birthed a million memes? Age of Cage is a smart, beguiling book about the films of Nicolas Cage and the actor himself, as well as a sharp-eyed examination of the changes that have taken place in Hollywood over the course of his career.

I enjoyed this book. It was so different, it didn't go into details of this and that but really explored each film how it linked his career and how it linked to the time that it was made. I found it so interesting even though I don't like most of the films, it showed how what an character Nicolas Cage really is.

Reviewed: 04-07-24
I have read Hollys book as well, this was not as good, but I do feel that it filled in some details of what life at the mansion was like towards the end of Hugh Hefner's life. I was surprised at how sad this book was, and how lonely she felt. The writing was just okay I wouldn't recommend it as a book to start if you want to find out real information about the Playboy mansion.

The idea was better than the execution
Reviewed: 02-28-24
I liked the idea of this book, but it was let down by the lack of character development.
the characters were not very well developed and they all belonged in a comic book.
this made it difficult to care about anyone.
then the ending was just so unbelievable which made this book a waste of time.

I got a real feel of why she stayed
Reviewed: 10-08-23
I tried to read this when it first came out, and felt she was biting the hand that fed her.
However after watching the Playboy documentary, I saw all of this from a different perspective and I found myself on her side and I understood why she stayed.
I found it well written and I enjoyed her narration.

A serial killer in the making? Lincoln Rhyme and Amelia Sachs are called upon to tackle a crime unlike any they’ve ever faced. An unknown subject is using his formidable skills to work his way into the lives—and hearts—of his victims, all with the goal of utterly destroying them psychologically and emotionally . . . for his pure pleasure. Rhyme recognizes the trademark sadism of a future serial killer, but the man has been meticulously careful—indeed, stopping just short of illegal behavior, ensuring that the criminalist’s forensic skills are useless against him.

This is a good book but its bleak
Reviewed: 10-08-23
I really enjoyed this book and I was constantly shout at the characters, I wish they had listened.
It is very bleak but that means it was well written, while keeping your interest.
Lots of others said they did not like the ending, but because I was prepared for the abruptness I liked it because it wa up to the audience to fill in the rest.
