Fun story with some issues

Overall I like the book but it has two glaring flaws. Fist the audiobook narrator is good but either there wasn’t an editor or they are really bad at their job. Narrator is constantly sniffing or inhaling loudly between sentences. It’s like nails on a chalkboard. Editor should have cut that out. Second is the story is a little flat and disjointed at times. At chapter 40 it goes off the rails in the dumbest pity party, martyr syndrome scenario that makes no real sense.

This is such a fun and entertaining story. McClain takes the story to the next level with his narration. Simply amazing.

Not much in the way of a story. Kind of a monster of the week mentality. Not bad job at not good either.

Too short, author is stretching out stories...

To make more money. This and the last one or two books should have been combined. The author seems to be trying to make more money by taking smaller side stories and stretching them out into short stories that we are paying full price for. Other than that it is still fun.

The author seems to be writing stories that are more episodic adventures that are not really connected to previous books. Its like watching someone's D&D campaign. And its a bit of a monster of the week formula. Fun but he has left watch seems to be the original story behind. The biggest issue I have is the stories are getting too short and the value isn't really there. These last few stories should have been combined rather than separated and stretched out to make short stories that we are paying full price for.

So Ugland has pushed away from developing a story that all the books are working towards into a more episodic D&D like adventure where every book isn't really contributing to a centralized story. Still a fun read though.

Good adventure, but now we are kind of drawing out the overall story. Not sure if this is bad or good yet as it is still fun to listen to.

... sort of. This book sees some movement into a larger story but then ends on an odd choice that seems to completely shift the story.

I am appreciating the flowing story but not sure there is an idea for an overarching story but will wait to see.
