Story
Gabriel Delling might call himself a professional con artist, but when walking superstitions start trying to bite his face off, his charm is shockingly unhelpful. It turns out living nightmares almost never appreciate a good joke. Together with a succubus who insists on constantly saving his life, Gabe desperately tries to survive a new reality that suddenly features demons, legends, and a giant locust named Dale - all of whom pretty much hate his guts. And when an ancient horror comes hunting for a spirit locked in his head, Gabe finds himself faced with the excruciating choice between death...or becoming some kind of freaking hero.

Stop making new main chars to fit each situation.

The character becomes a completely new person for no reason half way through the book and it makes no since. he's willing to stand his ground on certain subjects but becomes a cry baby on that subject later for no reason. I don't want to give spoilers so I wont state what actually happened but it was bad enough for me to stop listening to the book.

Gamer has no Game

Any additional comments?
MC makes a living testing the game. MC spends all his off time playing the game. MC get stuck in the game and well he has no clue. MC plays a caster as his main normally and so makes a caster again. Even though he plays a high level caster normally he just cant stop crying about everything and even freezes up and cant cast a spell to save his group on LOW level mobs. MC is an idiot and must have game rules explained to him over and over. Author tries way to hard to be funny and so most of the time is not. Very hard to make myself finish the book...... yup I did, and it never got better.

Profanity Warning!
Reviewed: 07-19-17
Any additional comments?
Why is it that we are not notified about the heavy use of profanity in a book before we buy it? If I can't write an open review using the same foul language as the book I just purchased uses then I would think Audible should be required to notify us about it before we make the purchase. I am tired of having to return books that I would not have purchased at all if I had known of the abundant usage of profanity in them. Please don't get me wrong. At times there can be the need for that kind of language and I understand that. This book..... wow, maybe the author needs to come up with a better vocabulary than just F***, F***ed, F***ing. There is just no way I could listen to this book openly at home in front of my kids or even open in public..... though the way society is getting today I could probably listen to it openly in public.... how sad is that?
I love LitRPGs. That said, the story line is ok up to 8 hours 15 min into the book when I gave up and wrote this. The story is not the problem the language used to tell the story is. I will return the book as soon as I post this review.
Luke Daniels is nothing less than incredible with the usage of different voices. The "drama" he puts into the reading is just crazy good. If you like man-made sound effects that at times are funny and other times can be loud as if you are really there then you will love the narration.
I listen to a lot of books, I think this one is #465 Audible titles. I do not normally write reviews but I am very frustrated with the lack of information we get before purchasing a book, so I had to vent this time. Please forgive this old man's rant but if I help even one person skip this book because I gave a little bit more information than what you would normally get then at least I helped someone. For those of you who talk like this books characters do or don't mind listening to almost 18 hours of heavy profanity well I guess I have helped you too!
I hope each one of you are having a wonderful day and find a wonderful book to listen to.
Good Night.

I loved the first book even with the impossible things the MC could do. It was a fun book and I have listened to it more than once. Book 2: Wow what a difference! I was so bored I made it over 6 hours hoping things would get better and we could get back to the MC story line and have more fun. Nope. The story drones on with so much time given to other characters that the MC is lost almost as if he is just an afterthought. I could not listen anymore and just quit to find another book that could keep my interest. With well over 400 titles in my library I have written very few reviews but I waited so long for the 2nd book and am so very disappointed in it I hope to let others that felt the same as I did know ahead of purchase. BE WARNED!

Wish the sample gave as much language as the book
Reviewed: 01-24-11
I have been reading Sci-Fi&Fantasy books all my life and have enjoyed so very many of them. I have found that it is sad when an author thinks it is a MUST to use so much bad language. I bought all three of the books before I read the first one on the reviews of others...... big mistake..... I dont mind some bad language to give the book the feel of a character but when it is used the way this author found it necessary... umm no.
I found the author used WAY to much F... this and F... that when there were so many other good ways to feel out a character or situation. Had to turn off the audio when my children where in the room when I was listening to the first book. It makes me not even interested in the next two. How sad is that. I really wish the sample gave as much of the bad language as the whole book did so I would have known. I would NOT have purchased any of them.
