You don't become a hero for the money. The money's nice, sure, but you become a hero because something inside compels you, drives you to it. Defending people from monsters simply doesn't pay well enough to make it a good career move.As for hunting dragons... well, the money is usually good, but the job really bites.A group of five professional heroes goes into the lair of the dragon. Who will win?Spoiler: The dragon. But it turns out killing a hero sometimes does nothing more than make him even more determined.Sometimes, heroes are never more dangerous than when they're dead!

Narration is lackluster at best. Good storyline
Reviewed: 04-27-24
There is no emotion in narration, no change in voice between characters making it harder to follow. The story is good and I like garons work but AI narration diminishes the quality and detracts from the work whereas a good voice actor compounds on the work of an author.

The narrator was familiar and added to the story telling experience. This was an escape that I looked forward to getting lost in on my commute. Thoroughly enjoyable from beginning to end.

Story
Young Cally is an apprentice within the most unusual order of sorcerers in the known world: the only one that forbids its members from using their powers to kill. Despite his lowly status, Cally's chosen by the Master of the Order to join a delegation to see their allies the Lannovians. The meeting will be historic: 60 years ago, the Order's enemies attacked them with a host of demons, forcing the Order to trap the monsters inside their own citadel and seal it shut with impenetrable wards. The trick worked so well the Order hasn't been able to get it back open since.

The audio drama is absolutely hilarious and spine chilling at times. There are plenty of times the humor is so dramatic that all u can do is cringe in sympathy or the characters. Wish it was a bit longer

This installation of the series is amazing and perfectly executed. I won’t provide any spoilers but it is bloody, magical, and above all earth shattering twist in the series. It provides the framework for predators and establishes a critical element for future books.
