Story
Iris and Gabriel have just arrived home from a make-or-break holiday. But a shock awaits them. One of their closest friends, Laure, is in their house. The atmosphere quickly becomes tense as she oversteps again and again: sleeping in their bed, wearing Iris' clothes, even rearranging the furniture. Laure has walked out on her husband—and their good friend—Pierre, over his confession of an affair and a secret child. Iris and Gabriel want to be supportive of their friends, but as Laure's mood becomes increasingly unpredictable, her presence takes its toll.

Story
“You like it darker? Fine, so do I,” writes Stephen King in the afterword to this magnificent new collection of twelve stories that delve into the darker part of life—both metaphorical and literal. King has, for half a century, been a master of the form, and these stories, about fate, mortality, luck, and the folds in reality where anything can happen, are as rich and riveting as his novels, both weighty in theme and a huge pleasure to digest.

Steven Weber is an incredible narrator. I’m not sure I would have made it through this book if I had read it. He brings win to life. There’s a lot to this book and sometimes I felt incredibly lost but it was a very good listen.

I can’t believe this is Sandra Brown
Reviewed: 10-20-24
I’ve read a lot of Sandra brown books and the reviewers were right. This one is not up to par. The narrator and whoever produced this were way off mark. It’s a book based in Texas and most of the characters have a MA accent. A young character sounds like a 64 year old smoker. The book also should have been read by a woman. On this one, Brown, did not get the deviation and tragedy through in her characters. I wouldn’t consider any of them deep.

What a concept. It was so close to how things could go I had to take a break from this story once in a while. Made me want to chuck my phone. The authors note at the end was quite interesting and I’m glad it was in here.

I have to admit, I wasn't really keen on this book in the beginning but it did grow on me. I was baffled by the fact there were no parents in the picture. I really do love the relationship between Lenni and Margot and also the priest. It is sad a but with a heart warming tale.

This was my first and last Colleen Hoover book. I found the whole story extremely unbelievable. The bite marks on the headboard and the fact the girl was sleeping in that bad was completely ridiculous. There are so many other better stories with suspense, drama, and sex than this one. I have no idea what the rave is about.

It took me about 8 hours to get into this book but once I did, I couldn't put it down. I loved some of the characters and I hated others. The book is a little hard to follow in the beginning but the characters keep coming back which makes them become easier to remember and understand. I find myself looking at churches a little different now after listening to this book. I'm also not a very religious person however, I found that base of the story incredibly interesting. I do know that I'm very glad I did not live during this time.
