Story
Every woman wants to be Elizabeth Bennet Darcy - beautiful, gracious, universally admired, strong, daring and outspoken - a thoroughly modern woman in crinolines. And every woman will fall madly in love with Mr. Darcy - tall, dark and handsome, a nobleman and a heartthrob whose virility is matched only by his utter devotion to his wife. Their passion is consuming and idyllic - essentially, they can’t keep their hands off each other - through a sweeping tale of adventure and misadventure, human folly and numerous mysteries of parentage.

Great book. I especially love the messages of the book: how to never give up a dream, how grit & perseverance can help anyone succeed in life even when faced with a tough start in life & great hurdles, how little things people can do to help others can have lifeling impact, the dangers of addiction, etc.

Story
Black Americans have long been shackled to the Democrats. Seeing no viable alternative, they have watched liberal politicians take the Black vote for granted without pledging anything in return. In Blackout, Owens argues that this automatic allegiance is both illogical and unearned. She contends that the Democrat Party has a long history of racism and exposes the ideals that hinder the Black community’s ability to rise above poverty, live independent and successful lives, and be an active part of the American dream.

Wow! What an incredible read with lots of facts, figures, and historical references to support her claims and opinions. I knew the Democrat party used to known for being be anti-black (especially in the South) whereas the Republican party was the opposite...the party of Lincoln. I now understand that the Democrats have only manipulated black America and other minorities to think they are supported when in fact liberal policies continue to worsen the lives they claim to support. Disbelieving? Read the book and fact check all the info & data she shares. You will be enlightened and see this woman is speaking the truth to wake people up and improve the lives of Americans, especially Black America.

I loved the story up until the ending. I so imagined them reconnecting once his daughter recovered, he & his daughter moving to France near Sophie, James pursuing his love of photography landscapes and Sophie slowing teaching James’ daughter the business since she already had a love of science. I also would have liked more details of her business’ success. Great story, but ending came up short and flat.
