Stupid women
Reviewed: 11-01-24
Even though the stories were cute, I just want to say that the women in these stories were absolutely stupid. Exhausting and stupid. That’s it. But don’t let my opinion stop you from listening to these books.

Sorry, but the narrator ruined this book for me. She just read the book. She didn’t have different voices for each of the characters. Everyone sounded like a 40 year old woman. Even the 7 year old girl.
Read the book instead.

Story
Eight years ago I fell into a secret summer fling with my best friend’s little sister before our lives went in different directions. Now, I’m the grumpy to Juliet’s sunshine on a popular dating podcast we host, and when a wealthy fan gives us a charming coastal cottage as the biggest thank you ever, we head to the town where I grew up to give it a makeover. And find the house has only one bed. Located under a mirrored ceiling.

Zachary and Andi are always an automatic download for me, regardless of the author. However, The Accidental Dating Experiment turned out to be as wonderful as well. Sweet and spicy; the perfect mixture made for a great listen.

The difference is mine will never be revealed, whereas I can easily get yours, assuming the price offered by your enemy is right and the scales of justice appeal to my personal standards of ethics. Easy peasy lemon squeezy. The thing that’s not so easy for a shy guy like me? Finding Ms. Right and locking her down.

Story
Sparrow “Ro” Meadowcroft is about to get the promotion she’s always dreamed of–curator of the museum where she works. She loves old things and the history that surrounds them, so when a patron leaves some items to the museum, Ro is eager to dig in. The sword in the stone that comes with those items is clearly a joke. A well-made but obvious replica meant to be a conversation starter. Why anyone would think that belonged in the museum is beyond her, but she can’t resist taking a crack at it and finding out if she’s the chosen one. And as it turns out...she is.

Wonderful story, one issue
Reviewed: 11-02-22
This was a wonderful series. The ONLY issue I had with it was the continuity of Chases age of when his dad died. One book stated that he was 18, while another said he was 15, and the third had both ages.
Other than that. Great stories and great narrator.

Suspense and mystery and SEX! Oh my!!
Reviewed: 10-27-21
WARNING!! If you are not into steamy sex scenes with your mystery and suspense, then skip this book. For the rest of us….
A serial rapist is terrorizing women in Savannah, GA, and it’s up to Detective Ryne Robel and forensic profiler Abbie Philips to solve the case.
Kylie Brant does an excellent job weaving mystery and intrigue together. I enjoyed the world and character building, and I especially enjoyed listening to how all the evidence came together like puzzle pieces. Lots of twists and turns to keep you guessing as to who the rapist was. Oh, and the sex scenes were very steamy. 🔥
I really enjoyed Bronson Pinchot’s narration. He was expressive and used a huge array of voices for the different characters.

The story was OK
Reviewed: 10-25-21
What I didn’t like:
Rape with questionable consent between the MMC and the MFC. And she was upset that he didn’t cuddle her afterwards. Really?
Repetitive conversations. Yes, we know your parents are divorced and used you against each other. How many times are you going to remind us?
Long drawn out unnecessary inner monologues.
Story inconsistencies.
The way some characters interacted with the MFC. Throwing her into the trunk of a car for her “safety” was unnecessary. But the fact that she was upset with the enclosed space more than the abduction itself annoyed me.
MFC is an idiot. She started out kick ass, went stupid, kicked ass, then went stupid. I got dizzy.
What I liked about it:
The prologue
The first time meeting between the MCs after the prologue.
Most of the story after chapter 5.
Action packed suspense, when there was suspense.
The steamy scenes were steamy.
The premise of the idea behind the New Species.
The narration was OK.
