Story
Earth-2 is a world almost consumed by dangers, on the brink of civil war between the cloned “Tanks”, the “Natural Borns”, and the hybrid “Mules”. The only thing that has prevented actual fighting, a conflict that may destroy the young planet, is the existence of an even worse enemy, one that sees the three groupings as part of the same infection. The Regent and the deadly threat of the First Imperium’s robot warriors has provided sufficient fear and incentive to force the human groupings together, to hold off their own contest.

I love the storyline and the author really captures the essence of the main and supporting characters very well. I find myself often on the edge of my seat listening to what will happen next. This is one of those books and series that has the right balance to description of what's going on as well as the action-based scenes that you can really visualize in your head as you're listening. I must say that the narrator does a very good job of telling the story as well.

Story
The year is 2033. The world has been reduced to rubble. Humanity is nearly extinct and the half-destroyed cities have become uninhabitable through radiation. Beyond their boundaries, they say, lie endless burned-out deserts and the remains of splintered forests. Survivors still remember the past greatness of humankind, but the last remains of civilisation have already become a distant memory. Man has handed over stewardship of the earth to new life-forms. A few score thousand survivors live on, not knowing whether they are the only ones left on Earth....

this may be just me but for whatever reason I could not get into this book I tried very hard but I couldn't follow the characters all that well and it felt as though that this book should have been one that had more action in it but what I ended up getting was a lot of very descriptive detailed information about what was going on but really no real story. perhaps it's just me maybe someone else who's looking for something somewhere to this might find this book entertaining but I just did not.

Not my cup of tea
Reviewed: 01-06-23
I normally like these kinds of books where it's a group of survivors against the living dead but for whatever reason this book just did not do it for me. I believe it has something to do with it being broken up the way it is with seven individual stories so many different characters they didn't seem to be very rememberable and it was difficult to follow along because things change so much because of the characters so didn't really get into this one all that well.

The A.I. became independent, powerful, and it started killing biological infestations - life - any life, all life. It grew into a vast armada of death. Jon Hawkins and his team captured the A.I. destroyer invading the solar system. The genocidal assault should have been over, but it's not. An alien A.I. strand from the cybership survived in the distant Kuiper Belt. The strand has been multiplying and taking over by turning people into robots in order to build another supership.

Story
Sunset Park is gone. People are missing. Sylvie, Eric, and the other survivors have crossed the water to the security of a new Safe Zone, where they hope to heal their battered hearts, amass an armory, and get back at the ones who took it all away. But with zombies on the move and few resources to speak of, it’s harder than expected to plot their revenge. For some, it’s harder still to garner their resolve, since vengeance means more of them will die. But safety is ephemeral in a city where food is short and tensions are high. It seems fate may leave them no choice but to fight.

it seemed to be very confusing to me not very action-oriented and I got lost a lot until around the very end when it finally kind of centered on the main characters. In all fairness though I didn't realize that I was starting the series on book number two. I might have done better if I had started with the first book.
