The world’s greatest bodybuilder. The world’s highest-paid movie star. The leader of the world’s sixth-largest economy. That these are the same person sounds like the setup to a joke, but this is no joke. This is Arnold Schwarzenegger. And this did not happen by accident. Arnold’s stratospheric success happened as part of a process. As the result of clear vision, big thinking, hard work, direct communication, resilient problem-solving, open-minded curiosity, and a commitment to giving back. All of it guided by the one lesson Arnold’s father hammered into him above all: be useful.

Arnold has to be one of the most recognizable actors in Hollywood who became famous by his various action movies in the 80's. However, listening to his life story you realize there is more to him than body building and movies. His struggles throughout his life ring true with many of us and make him more relatable and human to the general populace. It's no surprised he had the success in his various Carrers due to his personal discipline which is evident in everything he does. A force of nature to be recon with but with an extremely human side. A very enjoyable book which share with its audience an amazing story. I had always liked his movies growing up, but after hearing his life story I have a deeper understanding of the metal behind the man many of us knew and grew to love as the Terminator.

Sentient Being…!

Once again we find ourselves in deep space with some known entities which form part of the Aliens universe. Furthermore, we get a glimpse of the politics and machinations of the various powers which find themselves at war with each other; namely the UPP (Union of Progressive People). The 3 World Empire, and lastly the UAM (United Americas). It is within this framework that our current story of the ever identifiable and beloved Bishop Android unfolds. Everyone is looking for him due to the information stored deep within the encrypted section of his main processing unit. He holds the heavily guarded secrets of the Company aka “Weyland-Yutani.” Secrets which unfold and bring into daylight the true biological essence of the Xenomorph XX-121 which was first encountered on LV-426 or better known as Acheron. We also get introduced to a new group of Colonial Marines and with this comes an entire slew of different personalities and idiosyncrasies of the new squad. Their Commanding Officer is the brother of SFC Aponte who was the NCOIC (Noncommissioned Officer in Charge) of the second squad of Marines to set foot on Hadley’s Hope. I felt the book was a little short and there was more room to not only develop the story but also character development. One thing is for sure, there is no mistaken the machination of the Xeno’s once they are introduced within the story.

Carr does not disappoint once again and delivers a masterful performance which will keep you at the edge of your seat. The enigmatic Navy Seal we have come to admire is once again right in his element, applying the masterful tactical skills learned throughout a dedicated military career. However, this time he is not operating under the purview of the Department of Defense but under the watchful eye of a fellow Special operator Victor Rodriguez, who is the director of the CIA'S Special Activities Division. None the less his mission once again has enormous ramifications for the entire nation to include its President. Jack's knowledge of our government's response to different scenarios is evident throughout the story. And a tremendous compliment to his past military experience as a Special Naval Warfare Operator. Bringing great credit to those elite men in uniform and to him as a modern writer of military thrillers Comparable to those like Tom Clancy, Frederick Forsyth, Robert Ludlum, and John le Carre.

Aliens has to be one of the most recognizable sci-fi movies of all time. It follows the next chapter of LT. Ellen Ripley in her interstellar fight with the ominous Xenomorph; a creature / organism that the company aka Weyland-Yutani knew about, and it continues to strive and acquire a live specimen at all costs. Therefore, the story of Acheron LV-426 is the next chapter in this saga in which we get introduced to a whole new group of unforgettable characters which add more depth and richness to the story which are a perfect complement to Ripley’s indomitable spirit of survival. By far the best movie within the original collection of movies that span the Alien Universe. The characters within this movie have stood the test of time and as a fan are relatable at every level and scope within the story. And unforgettable cast from not a well-known director at the time of release.

The Ultimate hero of the ascendency
Reviewed: 10-08-20
Once again Thrawn is mesmerizing with his cool collective and tactical mind. Next to admiral Aralani he is one of the most gifted officers within the chiss expansionary fleet. I love the way how the story reveals the complicated and devious internal politics which exists among the nine ruling families within the ascendency. Politics which Thrawn is completely blind to; he is however, admired and respected by the ruling patriarch of the Mith family who has been the driving force behind his protection amongst the ruling members of his family. Furthermore, Thrawn is one of those characters that is loved my many but also hated by manny. Largely because of his inability to navigate within the internal politics of the ruling families and quite intentionally those of his Mith family. Timothy Zahn once again delivers masterfully with this amazing new chapter in Thrawn's life and military career within the Chiss Ascendancy. A must read if you are a Thrawn fan.....!

Once more the genius that is Grand Admiral Thrawn is seen in action battling the various enemies the Empire has throughout the extensive galaxy that is the Star Wars Universe. The Admiral is respected and loved by the crew of the ISD (Imperial Star Destroyer) Chimera; and they follow his orders without question. Furthermore, displaying the military traits which are found in units which exercise discipline up and down the command structure. All this is without a doubt vividly displayed and seen in this dramatic story in which Thrawn is caught exercising his superb military tactics surrounded by the empires most ambitious and treacherous men within the service to the Galactic Empire of emperor Palpatine. Grand Moff Tarkin and Director Krennic are always at odds with one another in a superb power struggle that equals their rank and status within the empire.
