Story
Mercer Mann, a popular writer from Camino Island, is back on the beach, marrying her boyfriend, Thomas, in a seaside ceremony. Bruce Cable, infamous owner of Bay Books, performs the wedding. Afterward, Bruce tells Mercer that he has stumbled upon an incredible story. Mercer desperately needs an idea for her next novel, and Bruce now has one. The true story is about Dark Isle, a sliver of a barrier island not far off the North Florida coast. It was settled by freed slaves three hundred years ago, and their descendants lived there until 1955, when the last one was forced to leave.

Not a good listen nor a good story line. Too much detail for unnecessary characters and doesn’t add to moving the story along.

Story
Zachary Quinto - best known for his role as the Nimoy-approved Spock in the recent Star Trek reboot and the menacing, power-stealing serial killer, Sylar, in Heroes - brings his well-earned sci-fi credentials and simmering intensity to this audio-exclusive novella from master storyteller John Scalzi. One day, not long from now, it becomes almost impossible to murder anyone - 999 times out of a thousand, anyone who is intentionally killed comes back. How? We don't know.

The Dispatcher series is really a quick, fun listen. I like how John Scalzi puts words together to make a great story.
The narrator of this series is WONDERFUL. Zachary really brings the story to life. I was surprised that I don't find a lot of books narrated by Mr. Quinto. I think he's right up there with Dick Hill as a very good narrator.
Let's hear more from Zachary Quinto in the future please!

I’m only into the 5th chapter and am sick of he said she said. Reader is doing a good job of distinguishing voices. Why oh why after every (that we infer stand is a) quote does the writer have to explain. I don’t think I can take it for 72 chapters.
