Story
After serving his country as a Green Beret, Zeke Calhoun was happy to get out of the military and settle into the small-town life as a bar owner. His position with Eagle Point Search and Rescue fulfills his need to serve and provides some of the best friends he’s ever known. He didn’t realize anything was missing, until it was right under his nose every day - his sweet, shy waitress, Elsie. It isn’t easy to convince the independent, gun-shy single mom to let him in - but one stolen kiss in a heightened moment and he’s a goner. Zeke is up for the challenge.

I rarely ever leave a bad review but this was , imo the most boring S. Stoker book. The whole book is repeated lines of " her eye filled with tears" over the most mundane shows of consideration by ' her man' This one just wasn't for me. I like the suspense/ action/ romance of her other books for easy listening while I work.

What a wonderfully write story. Narrator does a great job bringing all the characters to life with excellent voices and tones for them all. I hope this becomes a nice long series that I can enjoy over and over again. Highly recommend!

Story
Memphis Ward arrives in Quincy, Montana, on the fifth worst day of her life. She needs a shower. She needs a snack. She needs some sanity. Because moving across the country with her newborn baby is by far the craziest thing she’s ever done. But maybe it takes a little crazy to build a good life. If putting the past behind her requires a thousand miles and a new town, she’ll do it if it means a better future for her son. Even if it requires setting aside the glamour of her former life.

I was use to JD rocking the stories but this one was pretty lame. Which is better than the last Hoon book, that was horrible. Seems maybe JD has runs his course . It was great while it lasted.

It took me a little bit to get pulled into the story . I generally don't like the stories with sound effects but in no time I was invested in finding out what happens. Glad I kept listening, it was entertaining.

I've wondered in the past if the author didn't like Americans but brushed it off as just characters in a book. Well I no longer wonder. I wish I could just say " it's just a book" but the whole book is anti Americans . I can't continue to support an author that holds such obvious disdain for us. So sad day for me.

Emerson Knight is introverted and eccentric and has little to no sense of social etiquette. Good thing he's also brilliant, rich, and (some people might say) handsome, or he'd probably be homeless. Riley Moon has just graduated from Harvard Business and Harvard Law. Her aggressive Texas spitfire attitude has helped her land her dream job as a junior analyst with megabank Blane-Grunwald. At least Riley Moon thought it was her dream job, until she is given her first assignment: babysitting Emerson Knight.
