The story was well written and the narration was excellent. I loved Cassidy’s story. She is smart, articulate and courageous. I am a moderate republican and with reading Cassidy’s story have hope and believe that the party can move away from the extreme disappointing direction it has gone under Trump. Cassidy is proof. Cassidy should be proud as I know many that are of her. She should and I believe will be treated well by historians, an inspiration for young woman and truly hope it is not the last I hear about her.

Tamra never dreamed she would marry someone like Mike Mitchell: handsome, rich, a wonderful husband...until she finds out that Mike is having an affair. But Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, and Mike Mitchell should have remembered that before he made a fool of her. Because Tamra knows something about Mike. Something he did. Something evil. And she was prepared to carry the secret to her grave. Not anymore.

Story
It's been over a decade since Nora left her hometown of Scupper Island, Maine, and very seldom looked back. She's carved out a successful life in Boston, where no one knows her as the awkward girl with the delinquent sister and the dad who left, but a not-as-dramatic-as-it-sounds brush with death has her taking stock of her life. Inspired to reconnect with her prickly mother and snarky teenage niece, Nora returns home for the summer, where she's forced to face the people she's spent the last ten years trying to avoid.

Enjoyable Story

My first listen to a Kristan Higgins story and I really enjoyed it. Relatable characters. Touches on some uncomfortable topics that are very real and bring out emotions from situations that I have felt myself or knew someone that went through something similar. Insecurities, bullying, addiction, sexual assault, troubled families, mental illness and the best…perseverance. Wish it went deeper into some of the storylines, but it was very well written and kept me interested. I liked the narration as well. I will certainly listen to more from the author.

The Christmas party at the Sea Glass Inn is a long-held tradition, one the townspeople of Blackbird Beach consider the kick-off of the Christmas season. Until, of course, the inn closed, and the party stopped happening. Now Georgia Carpenter has decided it’s time to restart that tradition, even though the party is a massive undertaking and one that will influence how people feel about the inn for the rest of the year. With the help of her sister, Lilly, Georgia hopes to put on an event that will be merry and bright and spark new interest in the business.

Story
In a tale inspired by real events, pregnant journalist Joan Harken is cautiously excited to follow her fiancé back to his Minnesota hometown. After spending a childhood on the move and chasing the screams and swirls of news-rich city life, she’s eager to settle down. Lilydale’s motto, “Come Home Forever,” couldn’t be more inviting. And yet, something is off in the picture-perfect village. The friendliness borders on intrusive. Joan can’t shake the feeling that every move she makes is being tracked. An archaic organization still seems to hold the town in thrall.
